      I buy the disposable ones by the case. With 4 kids and a wife that hunt and ski we're in tht outdoors in the cold a lot. Some years I'll buy 3 cases, some none.       My first goose!

      Welcome to the addiction! Unfortunately they are a lot more fun to shoot than to eat. Best way we've found to use them is to grind and mix with 10% pork fat. Add summer sausage seasoning, stuff into 2" casings and smoke to 160. Chill and slice. My wife and kids can't get enough of it that...

      Wasn't thick enough on Sunday in Dearborn county. Dad checked his pond and only found 1-2" He was thinking that the snow must be keeping it insulated / heavy enough that it's not forming much new despite the cold. Strange IMHO, I would have bet that it was good to go.
