      If the scientists can demonstrate scientifically that a given demographic should receive a limited medical intervention then it makes sense to follow that lead. If a political decision is made to placate a demographic, or to stoke a demographic, well that's just plain wrong.

      One way to decrease federal encroachment/influence is to stop accepting the monies they tie to various projects; that could be extended to avoiding State encroachment upon local activities. Could a school system function solely from local taxes? May need some bake sales to make the magic...

      Using engineered lumber i beam for home gym?

      I joist-- OSB in the middle (web) with solid 2x3? flanges on the top/bottom. As I really think about it at 11:30pm, my 200# pulling on two different beams probably isn't a whole lot of anything compared to the rest of the stress in the system.

      My basement uses engineered i-beams for the floor joists. Because the bottom of the joists are almost 9' off the floor, I'd like to mount a pull up bar and maybe a DIY TRK-type webbing setup. How do I do this correctly, so I'm not weakening the joists? I'm thinking I'll have to use 1"...

      My wife and I and teenage son need to just get into the wilderness and unplug for a weekend. Does anyone know of any cabins for rent that won't put us in the middle of people in blaze orange? We just need to make a fire and wander through the trees and just get grounded... We're in the Indy...
