War hits close to home, RIP SGT Tristan Wade

I'll be in formation for it, but I'll be sure to get pictures from whoever's taking them.

War hits close to home, RIP SGT Tristan Wade

Sgt Wade was in my company. We're having a memorial for him at FOB Sharana in a few days. He was a good NCO, and a friend. His soldiers liked and respected him, which says a lot about the quality of his leadership, and how he interacted with his guys. He'll be greatly missed among us.

      1360 extremists groups?

I may have come across the wrong way about the OKC bombing. I agree that it was an act of domestic terrorism, there's no doubt about that. My opinion on the motivation behind it though, is that it was a retaliation against the government for Waco and Ruby Ridge. I'm not trying to apologize for...

      1360 extremists groups?

Last I checked, Waco and Ruby Ridge weren't anti-government movements. They were just cases of jack booted tax men killing innocent people over someone not paying a fee, or the stock of their shotgun being 3/8" too short. Oklahoma City wasn't exactly anti-government either, per se. It was more...

Obama DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Tanks to Go With Their 1.6 Billion Bulle

I've hit a couple IED's here myself while driving a buffalo. Both were 150lbs+. The first one tore off our front axle, and the second didn't really do much except blow off a section of our RPG cage. Both hits did throw our 35 ton vehicle to the other side of the road however. Trust me, I don't...

Obama DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Tanks to Go With Their 1.6 Billion Bulle

The only MRAP type vehicle that I've seen take an IED blast very well are the route clearance vehicles (RG-31, Husky, Buffalo). MaxxPros, M-ATVs, and the such don't have a good enough v-hull on them to effectively deflect a blast. I've seen both of the latter fly through the air, or be severely...

Most Overated Item since the mad Rush

Other- Almost every AR part out there. The only things I could really find in stock were A2 style flash hiders, and gas tubes.

Women in combat - Is it worth the effort?

Before we deployed, we were given doxycycline to keep from getting malaria. As one of our medics found out, doxy counteracts birth control. Now, instead of still being here in Afghanistan, she's back in the states, pregnant, and pending an Article 15 I believe.

Another Slap in the Face to the Military by Libs

One thing a lot of people might not realize, that a lot of medals, the bronze star included, are just being handed out now. Like my PL and PSG for example, they're getting them for basically just doing their jobs, nothing more nothing less.
