One thing to keep in mind..............since the DNR does not allow bonus permits on state property(seems they are trying to save their deer) I would wonder if they would allow high powers on any state property hunt.
I also was drawn for the late hunt. I have not had the opportunity yet to go up for a look. Depending on how the firearm season goes I may not go to Pokagon. It is only 50 minutes for me so I may go take a look.
The bad thing about food plots is this.........is it something to help shoot a deer or is it something that helps the deer in general. What I mean is .....is the products planted like say the beets turnips etc just to draw a deer in to kill it or is it something that the deer can benefit from...
Hookeye I shoot everything.....have longbow, ILF style longbow, wood recurves ILF recurves and shoot them all fairly consistent to each other. I will admit that the ILF system with a plunger and flipper rest is easier to tune and be consistent with. Still I have done fairly well with all wood...
The problem with shooting a recurve is that the more poundage you start out with the less likely you are to be able to draw and anchor properly. If just flinging arrows is your goal go with the higher poundage when you start. If your goal is to become the most accurate archer you can be start...
+1 For low poundage. My suggestion would be to buy a 25# Samick Sage. Roughly $140 retail but the best for the money. Get some 600 spine arrows and leave them full length with 85 gr points. Put a soft pad on the shelf and sight window.
OK explain this to me. In 1995 we had a record harvest of 123,000+ deer. At that time we had two bow tags, a firearm tag, a muzzleloader tag and drew for a county specific antlerless permit. They only hunted 4 State Parks and there were no urban zones. In 2012 we set a new record with 136,000+...
Ya I would be pissed if I saw 20 deer in a day. I am so glad I only saw 10 different deer during bow season. So nice not to have deer interrupt my tree sitting.
If the biologist that viewed photos is not any smarter than our State Deer Biologist it is a wonder that they even thought it was a feline of any type.
