Boss Hogsett is at it again

My wife mentioned this to me over dinner. Her comment "I bet INGO will blow up tonight". At least we all know it is smoke and mirrors. He cannot enact much of anything he is proposing. He will "try to do something", fail, and blame it on anyone but his own failed leadership. Typical empty...

Botched FBI, Army Special Ops Training Raid Captures Unsuspecting Hotel Guest. (Boston)

I am surprised they are conducting "training" exercises while out and about with unsuspecting civilians. That is a GREAT way to get someone hurt. But, this IS the same group that will shoot your dog and burn your kids, so it shouldn't surprise me THAT much. Civilian casualties are just part...

      Offroading/overlanding thread

No change that I can tell. 21 highway and 17 around town. I am sure the 37" mud tires have more of an effect than the bumper style.

      Offroading/overlanding thread

I ended up with this on my Gladiator, for all of the same reasons: https://ruggedridge.com/p/rugged-ridge-hd-stubby-front-bumper/ Stubby, low-mount winch, and kept my factory LED fogs. Don't know how it would impact on-road manners? I mean, it already has the aerodynamics of a concrete block...

Funny Political Picture/Video Thread Part VIII** The other side makes this way too easy!

Meme should read: Her: See? You totally did this wrong. This one is too tight, this one too loose, the rusted one was on top before, and why is this so dirty? If you would have checked this tire before we left, we wouldn't be here. Are you listening to me? Him: sigh....

HELP WANTED (Need work done? Post here)

NEEDED: Water mitigation and/or or kitchen remodeling contractor that can do mitigation work and work with insurance. No, this is not related to my plumbing questions up-thread! Our dishwasher decided to dump water under the kitchen cabinets, and make a huge mess. Insurance looks like they will...

      Offroading/overlanding thread

I won't say we are totally into "overlanding". But, been into offroad for decades now, and have done our share of camping. A normal weekend for us is to just head out and go exploring. Not a ton in Indiana that requires 4x4, but still a few hidden gems. As for offroading/overlanding: we have...

      Best bourbon under $50?

Picked up a bottle of Basil Hayden this weekend, on sale at the local liquor store. A little on the sweet side, but still compliments a relaxing evening in front of the fireplace.

DNR begins $30 Million Monon South Trail Development

I used to be involved in Indiana's trail programs. Not anymore. Just gets... tiring... seeing all of that cash flow. Are trails nice? Sure. Nicer than roads? No, I don't think so. Nicer than bridges? No, not really. Nicer than schools? Probably not. I'd put them pretty far down on the "nice to...

      What's Your Measure of Success?

Family happy and cared for? Opportunities to do the activities we enjoy, mixed with opportunities to "work for it"? Learning something new every day? Helping a few other folks on their journeys? For me, my professional success is one (of a few) mechanisms to enable my personal success. Having...

Expect to hear the term "One health" soon. As your medical well being is judged against your environmental impact.

The Lancet itself is entirely too anthropocentric. Not only is their entire editorial board human, they hold an explicit bias against non-humans editors (People at The Lancet): https://www.thelancet.com/lancet-people I bet their so-called "peer review" is all human, too. How can they claim to...

The Insane "Social Justice" Thread pt IV

Y'all STOLE them from their (supposed) final resting place, put them on display to the public, whom you CHARGE to gawk at them, and you are worried about a word? Bless yur hearts.

"My 5 Shot Snubby is Good Enough"

Looks to me like the first couple of rounds (that actually hit) did the deed. Momentum carried him into the last several. Also reenforces that a large number of incidents are at "contact" range. Even that close, shot placement is damn hard. And, at that range, it is really almost too late. Had...

The Funny Picture/Video Thread, 14th Edition: Ketchup Farts, Dog Sneezes and Misspelled Tattoos

Intentionally modified her body to garish proportions in order to get attention. Uses her body to get attention (she is a "model"). Surprised that at least some of the attention isn't what she "wants". Well, at least she is still a she, I suppose. Sigh.... some people.

      Call centers

I do Product Management (among other things) for a contact center. Interesting business, to say the least. I HATE calling into contact centers. Mostly 'cause I know how they SHOULD be running, and most are not.
