    • Thanks for the rep! In that era most people think that WWIII would start between the Soviets and NATO, IMHO it was just as likely if not more, to start between the Soviets and Chinese. There were in fact some rather large scale border clashes that could have resulted in full scale war had not cooler heads prevailed.
Good to hear about the Jap carbine. I still need to get out and shoot my Type 38. We are taking a trip to Europe soon, so I have been knee-deep in planning for a while now. Shooting is probably going to wait until we get back.
Thanks for the rep. I'm not sure what he's smoking, but I'm pretty sure he's had enough :)

But seriously, I agree with you. He seems ... mercurial
Thank you Jim. It didn't sound right to me and I would certainly be against the loss of coverage if it were true, so I am glad I found the info. I really do hope everyone gets back to receiving paychecks ASAP, I really do. I'm afraid I'm coming off as a bit of a horses ass in this thread, but I don't wish anyone to suffer during this. I just don't like the "zero personal responsibility" that seems to have gripped some thinking, especially as we know that this will end. - Doug
Thank you Sir. I know I've said some silly, Wild Turkey induced stuff in the past, but I'm working on that, and trying to be more sensible. Best regards.
Well, it's supposed to be "The river only need to rise high enough to cover fallow ground". But google translate isn't all that accurate and it's been many years since I was an altar boy. I don't think Fallow Ground was a concept in the Mass, but it was in the gospels. :)
Thanks for the rep. Funny how they're all for affecting others, but not so happy when others want to affect them.
Thanks, sort of. Not said to score points but in the hopes of encouraging a bit more self reflection and perhaps preventing another trip down that particular self-referential rabbit hole
