Always appreciate your positive comments.
Totally agree with your Buckmark comment.
I have have had a couple of Ruger Mark 3s with varying degrees of upgrades.
One of them shooting as well as my best shooter.
I let it get away from me b/c I was reticent about the disassembly and...

Enjoyable time with a Browning Buckmark Pro Target with Sig MSR-Romeo red dot
&
Ruger Mark 4 w/wood grips & Bushnell red dot.
CCI Blazer 38 grain, 1235 FPS, SLN.
30' at 1.75" circles.
The Buckmark gets better groups.
The Mark 4 trigger I do not care for.
I "cheated" though, I rested the barrel...
I chuckled when i read your reference, "the stars have aligned, and the money is there."
Funds were low at a time and I'm still kicking myself for not stretching out to buy a "bucket list" used $1200 gun that the person came down from $1000.
They got their $1200 at a gun show one weekend while I...
I get their daily email.
and Rural King seems to have them on sale regularly.
If you have a RK nearby, it only costs $10 to have one delivered to a local store, if they don't have them in the store.
WOW!
I knew they had 14" barrels to go on the Contender 22 LR.
The first time I saw a Contender for sale with only a .22LR barrel, I ran not walked to buy it, hahaha!
It came with a 10 inch barrel and I wondered if I should even bother getting the 14 inch?
I had no idea they actually even came...
Appreciate your helpfulness & experience!
Did you notice, I did what you suggested and used 1/2" or 3/4" circles or squares instead of just my 1.75" circles testing accuracy/groups to illicit better accuracy (smaller targets, smaller groups)
I was surprised it worked so keenly...
Also, probably a pocket knife folded up in their pants their father or older brother gave him.
I can remember my older brother and I taking a couple of hatchets outside on the property and practicing how to throw them at a tree till they'd stick.
Nobody said a word: normal behavior.
Today, a...
Both scopes:
- adjustable eyepiece
- 3-9
- no parallax (which I think is the problem)
Only shooting at 25 yds, and I think they are set up for 50 yds??
On both scopes, when I look out my window at home around 50 yds, it is perfectly clear, not compromised:
- Tasco on TCR
- Nikon Prostaff on...
Fun day with two .22LR rifles:
- Thompson Center TCR (10/22 clone)
- Ruger 10/22 walnut stock
Brought the sled today so no excuses, except my eyes.
I wasn't happy with scope on either rifle I was using.
I couldn't use maximum magnification with clarity on reticle.
Used CCI Blazer 36...
Not the first time I've run across this ejection syndrome.
I just assumed some ammo cases swelled more than others after being fired.
I did try to keep some records of hard-to-eject.
1st Day:
1st 10 cylinders = I used CCI Mini-Mags (1235 FPS).
On the 5th & 8th cylinders (and another, I think)...
Got out the Ruger Mark 4 & Browning Buckmark Pro Target with red dots.
The Browning had tighter and more consistent groups.
I really noticed trigger better.
Pics say it all.
Used CCI Blazer 38 grain, 1235 FPS, SLN.
30' on 1.75" circles or 3/4" on blue squares.
Was dialing in red dot on...
