New Riff is a definite buy. Brought more than a few back from KY when we were there. Had a single barrel from Bluegrass Tavern that was fantastic. Couldn't find any it (single barrel) on the shelves anywhere however. Really interested in trying their rye.
Standard pour... 1.5-2 oz.
Since I predominately drink bourbon... and don't drink every day... allow me to rephrase: For the money, however, I've found it hard to beat Russell's Reserve 6 year rye as a go-to. ~$36. ;)
If I had to choose a rye to drink daily I would more than likely go with...
Ryes huh? As melensdad mentioned... High West Yipee Ki-Yay. Vermouth & Syrah finished Rye. A little something different then your standard rye. ~$60-70. A fantastic pour. If you want to throw down some extra bling, WhistlePig 10 yr Private Barrel Select. ~$100. For the money, however, I've...
We were just there a couple of weeks ago. They were bottling Blanton's for the Japanese market when we swung through there. All they were selling at the gift shop was BT, ER and the white dog. You mentioned the different tours there. You're right... the free one was less than stellar. Ran...
If you enjoy a casker like Booker's I'd suggest picking one up now while it's still around $50. Beam Suntory is set to raise the price to over $100 after the 1st of the year. I'll skip the rant but needless to say I won't be a buyer at that price.
Busting Booker’s: Why The Big Price...
Not your typical bottom shelf Rebel Yell. If you prefer wheater's, as do I, this version is fantastic! Mashbill constists of 68% Corn, 20% Wheat, 12% Malted Barley. Assumed to be juice from Heaven Hill, aged 10 years, bottled at 100 proof. Thought this would be a difficult one to find since...
Wasn't sure I was going to like this one the night I cracked it open. Maybe the palate had an off night that night, I don't know. Let it sit for awhile and revisted. Glad I did. Blade and Bow has an interesting story (which someone has already posted here previously). Supposed to be old...
W12 @ $21.99, OWA at $23.99 are pretty difficult to beat for the price. I could put OWA on my pancakes it's so sweet! Don't expect to see any more W12 around here in volume until around July. OWA is around in decent quantity, just have to know where to look. ;) SR can be had just about...
On sale?! Wow! Interesting to see the difference in pricing from location to location. Both Weller SR and Buffalo Trace run around $19 here in the D/FW area.
Both are out of Buffalo Trace Distillery. The Weller is a wheated bourbon (Pappy Van Winkle, the holy grail of bourbon, is a...
