I start with the Lyman sonic cleaner which gets the insides of the casings really nice and clean. Then I size, recap and trim (if necessary) followed by a quick clean of the primer pockets. Then back in the sonic cleaner to remove the case lube and the rest of the debris in the primer pockets...
Today I reloaded some 22 TCM since they're starting to really climb in price! First I spent a ton of time cleaning, sizing, trimming, chamfering, and cleaning primer pockets of the brass. It turns out that the 22 TCM requires the same amount of case prep as it's older brother the 223. Anyway...
Yeah, I've loaded both 38 and 45 Colt with shot capsules.... not a very effective round so I wouldn't cry if they banned them.... pretty sure that's not what Brandon was thinking....if he was thinking...FJB
I usually put my brass in sonic cleaner for around 30 minutes with whatever soap that Lyman sells (not bad stuff). Then I rinse the soap off and put the brass on an old cookie sheet and let it sit overnight until dry. After it dries, I tumble it in corn cob media overnight and it comes out...
I find the 22 TCM round seriously interesting so I am in search of a Rock Island 1911 with both the 22 TCM and 9 MM barrels, Let me know if someone has one that they want to sell.
Hello, I did resize some projectiles to .223 (38 grain JHP) and they shot pretty good but I was getting over pressure signs. I think I will have to experiment more with my charges to find something that works. I found some 40 grain .222 JSPs at Grafs recently and bought 300 so I'll be shooting...
