    • I've no idea if he does Facebook. I don't. I was an Army Chopper pilot from 70-80. Ft. Bragg, Korea, and Ft. Lewis WA. Spent 7 years in Houston flying commercial helicopters and working a commercial security job. Flew Hueys and Blackhawks in the Indiana Guard from 87-2009. I've landed on ships; everything from 80' geo boats to Supertankers, but I was always in a hurry to get off 'em quick.
I was in the Marines from 85-91. I was stationed on the west coast most of the time at MCAS El Toro. I was with VMA-211 and went over seas with them in 87 and I was with VMA-214 Blacksheep for about 7 months to go overseas with them in 88. If he is on facebook there is a A-4 page.
My wife's sister's brother-in-law was an A4 pilot. Retired a Commander & flies for UPS now. Wife's sister's eldest son is just finishing his first month at the Naval Academy.
I dont ask for anyone to agree with me. As noted, I am decently beyond moderately beliefs, which I say are only reactionary to the increasing plight against. All that I ask is for people to use they're heads, become knowledgable. Life is scary, but it's even scarier when people go march, proudly off to they're deaths for they're own ignorances in real world affairs.
Thats pretty effed up considering I believe it is legal for anybody to carry the key.
there are several companies who make mask and coverings for smaller children. the ones for my daughter (3 years old) I dont remember the name brand, and they are packed. the ones for the adults are U.S. military. good luck with your search.
True... I'll be back of this Teaching Afghans to farm gig in a couple more months. grab a couple of beers and talk then...
I had to give up drinking after my tour in Korea ended in '75. My Dad and his dad both died from complications of alcoholism. Fortunately, because of that Korea tour, my bad memories about drinking far outweighed my good memories. I'll have a Guiness or two nowadays, but that's about it.
Yes, it was not one of my more brilliant moves! "Alcohol might have been a factor"! :40oz::buddies:
The name sounds somewhat familiar but I can not place him. If you go to my photo album on here I have posted a few pictures of my time in D Troop. Maybe you will see a familiar face or two. Of course that was forty years ago (hard to believe) so we have all changed just a bit!
Hey Blackhawk! I wondered why you did not reply. I had to come over here to your visitor messages to see why. When replying you need to click on the name or avatar of the person you wish to talk to and it takes you to their visitors message board to leave your message on. Took me awhile to figure that out too! Anyway I know what you mean about the GPS reply etc. The Blackhawk was just a concept aircraft when I got out in the fall of 1972 but I did retire from a thirty year corporate career flying a Beechjet 400A for the last six of those years. It had an all glass cockpit too. Four tube Collins pro line 4 and FMS850 system. So yes we were all using nav systems like GPS,Loran and even the old inertial fifteen years before the nonflying public even new such things existed let alone what they were capable of. And of course if their only experience is with the civilian equipment they will be another fifteen years behind now even with the latest and greatest from Wal-Mart! Oh well! But it is good to hear from a fellow Army Aviator in any case. Take care, see you at the range! :patriot:
Yeah I was, but not in VietNam. I was an Aeroscout in 4/7 Cav in ROK 74, 75. Spent my last 5 years Active in C 3/5 Cav at Ft. Lewis, WA. Did you know a DustOff pilot named Tim Zeri? IIRC, he came to the 3/5 Cav from Nam about the time they reconstituted at Ft. Lewis. He might have been over there when you were.

I looked at the reputation thing after commenting about the GPS. Since I was using GPS when that guy was in Grade School (judging by his logon) I'm not too disposed to accept his criticism. But I'm not going to go out of my way to start calling names and if I express a judgment about something, I'll cite whatever experience I have to justify it.

JFYI, Blackhawk2001 is when I got qualified in Blackhawks. Nice aircraft; only got to fly them for four years, but a very nice aircraft.
Hello again Blackhawk! It looks as though we were in the same outfit at about the same time! We were detached from the 3/5 in I Corps and sent down to the Delta before I joined the Troop in 1969. We were made opcon to the 7/1 because we had our own direct support maintenance and Blackhawk did not have that in their TO&E. So we were in addition to being a," Bastard", troop in the Squadron fragged with providing direct support maintenance for the entire Squadron. :)

PS: How did you get a neg. rep already? You weren't a Scout Pilot too were you?!!! LOL!! :D
