I use Pit Boss or Traeger brand pellets. Usually have both hickory and apple on hand.
Hickory for beef, chicken, turkey and pork ribs.
Apple for other pork like butts and tenderloin.
Mesquite for chicken, turkey and beef when I have it.
After three prior attempts with mediocre results, I finally smoked a really good brisket today. Coincidentally, it was also the first time doing one on a Smokey Mountain. This 5.5 lb flat turned out very moist and tender and there wasn't much left after the family got done with it. Making it...
I can't recommend any brick and mortar retail locations but a search of Shooting Bot comes up with these online sellers where it is currently in stock.

Most of the mess made when I clean a rifle barrel comes from solvent spraying forward as the bore brush exits the muzzle. I recently watched a Erik Cortina video with Speedy showing how he cleans a barrel. He places a plastic bottle (soda, water, etc.) over the muzzle to catch anything that...
I have never owned or used a Dillon but I can imagine it's a top notch machine. If you determine that a Dillon is too much for your budget, a Lee Classic turret press will also serve you very well.
A factory bolt handle, Warne scope rail and action screws for a Savage 10 action. Had a couple of unused Savage actions and Shilen barrels laying around that got assembled into 6BR and 223 rifles.
Find a local match and show up with your gear. Sure, you will feel intimidated but that's just a normal part of the learning process. I have found that the vast majority of shooters at any type of organized match are very willing to help a new guy. Most organized matches have a contact person...
I used the Chargemaster Light for a good while and it worked well. My main complaint is that it had to be warmed up for 20-30 minutes to be stable. Even then, it tended to drift during a long loading session. When I upgraded to the FX-120i, I used that scale to determine that the...
I wouldn't get too hung up on SD and ES. Try your preferred methods of adjusting neck tension and shoot them on paper. The target will tell you how well it's working (or not).
Standard FL sizers typically oversize the neck. A FL bushing die followed by a mandrel die will give you better...
1. With the die backed out, raise the ram to it's highest point
2. Start turning in the die until it makes contact with the shell holder
3. Lower the ram and turn the die in another 1/8 turn or so and tighten the lock ring.
You should get a little bit of cam over when you raise the ram...
I like to spray a little One Shot into the sizing die after cleaning it. It helps with the first case or two that always seem to need more sizing force in a freshly cleaned die.
