I know a lot of folks don't like to claim NWI as part of the Hoosier state, but I believe the BP refinery in Whiting was in the top 10 largest refineries in the US.
OK, gotcha, I guess I'll need to change my mindset. My other rifle is a 1918 Berthier carbine, I believe they stopped making cool accessories for it during the roaring '20's.
The Luger forum guys would say it's a re-blued mixmaster (but they are crazed with every part stamped with the last 2 digits of the serial number). Lugers are truly a mechanical marvel, ergonomically perfect, and a dream to shoot.
I really like my S&W Bodyguard 380, slim and compact, it disappears in a pocket. I've never had an issue with the DAO pull length (and I doubt it would be of concern in a SHTF moment), I used to carry a model 36 snubbie and the DAO pull is familiar. I did buy pinkie extensions for all my mags...
I had a Crossman multi-pump 177 for a decade, late last year I picked up a Benjamin Mayhem single pump in 22 cal, major game changer. I have no doubt it will dispatch a coon without issue, just guessing, but it seems 22 short equivalent.
Bless me Jedi for I have sinned***,, I traveled south of US30, and it was good. Had a purchase transferred to Sheepdog Armory in CP. Nice little shop, met Ben and his dad. Didn't know the place existed until someone mentioned it in this thread. Loved the $20 transfer fee, also got to handle...
Jeesh I must really be a thug. I grew up in Whiting and never saw a wild raccoon (outside of a zoo) until I moved to Munster. I thought I was transformed into a enhanced flora and fauna, country gentleman.
For the win Chef Larry, the Robertsdale and Roby neighborhoods of Hammond put the NW in NWI. The city of Whiting is just to the east of Robertsdale. Geography lesson complete.
Thanks for the heads-up on the brass that may or may not exist :), but given my meteoric run for 50 quality posts, it may be a while.
Bstewrat3 and Wolfhound, thanks for the nod towards IMR3031, that's the powder that seems most available and the one I was leaning towards. I don't have any...
All, I have been using the commercial PPU 8x50R for my Berthier M-16 carbine as of late, but it seems the well has run dry at all the suppliers. I just bought a set of Lee dies and am looking for some suggestions for powder and projectiles from those of you that load for this oldie but goodie...
Ruger Security Six .357 Mag, mostly shot 38 special reloads, but always loaded up a hot 357 mag shell as the 6th round for those buddy's that thought revolver's time had passed.
