So boys and girls. For today's lesson we look at gun math. What do you get when you take a 45 acp 1911 and mash it up with a 9mm CZ75?

About 3.1 per 100,000 flight hours.

Don't know but I am a googlepert and the Osprey appears statistically similar. Sure isn't what the media would have us think?

For every 100,000 flight hours, the Osprey has had 3.2 mishaps involving loss of life or damage exceeding $2 million, Marine spokesman Capt. Ty Balzer said in an email. That compares with a rate of 2.98 per 100,000 flight hours for the CH-46 Sea Knight helicopters the Ospreys are replacing.

“The 10-year average mishap rate for MV-22′s is 3.16 per 100,000 flight hours,” Hernandez wrote on July 8. For comparison, that rate is lower than the AV-8 Harrier jet, variants of the F/A-18 Super Hornet, the F-35B fighter jet and the CH-53E Super Stallion. The 3.16 Osprey mishap rate is near the total Marine aviation platform average of 3.1 per 100,000 flight hours, the major wrote.

Great info. Had to attend quite a few funerals, so it feels like there was way more incidents, but objectively, the numbers seem right.
Last week was the anniversary of the only guy I lost on an Osprey. The rest were friends or guys I knew. Still messed me up.

I thought this is what that combo yielded

But that looks damn cool, though admittedly I'll have to go do some reading on CZ40B to learn more.

The 40B is an interesting project with colt which became a marketing debacle and resulted in a failed platform. It’s unfortunate as the gun feels great in the hand.

The DWX, to me, is a mash up of all kinds of guns - CZ75, 1911, 2011, P220 and a P320. I want one. Badly!

Definitely looks interesting and I want one as well. Not sure what these will actually go for once they are available in numbers.

Puts me very much in the mind of some of the Wilson Combat models.

Does anyone know if the DWX compact (without rail version) would work in existing CZ75 holsters? Sounds like it takes cz75 mags and grips.
