"On day one, we'll be spitting nails" tells me nothing. Replace department heads? Sounds great Ron, good luck. Hey, while you're at it do you think maybe we could, you know, shrink or eliminate the departments altogether? Great soundbite he offers. Pardon my disbelief he'll "reconstitutionalize" the government. He said it would take two terms to achieve such a task. Maybe he should remain focused on winning his first term. Cart and horse Ron, they go in a certain order.

You seem to act like he's just saying that and won't truly try and fight to achieve it. Do you believe he's been a proven fighter or not? Trump is not the only fighter now in the ring.

The way I see it at this point is going to be a hard choice. My belief is that Ron will be more effective at fighting the culture war, while Trump will be more effective at getting us back to a good place economically and militarily.

In my opinion the culture war is a matter for the public to fight rather than the government. When the public wants to fight, it's more effective than anything government can do, just look at Bud.

Where the public can't really make effectual change, like the economy and military, that's really up to a good administration. Which solidifies where I'm at currently.

Democrats, FBI you name it are after to destroy Trump. DeSantis…? Trump said he will take revenge when he gets in. No one has a greater incentive to destroy the alphabet agencies than Trump. I also don’t see DeSantis dealing with other countries as a leader. Maybe show them that campaign commercial of him with a stupid motorcycle helmet on portraying a fighter pilot he was not. He’s a child, his campaign people are children.

I don't understand what makes anyone think that DeSantis is'nt capable of getting us back to a good place economically and militarily as well as Trump while fighting the bureaucratic admirative state and the cultural rot.

We keep hearing this a lot from some here over and over "We need a fighter!' We need a fighter!" but yet they don't want to seem to recognize DeSantis as one.

My contention once again is that Trump isn't the only proven fighter capable of taking it hard to the opposition in the ring.

The problem with DeSantis is his only fight credential is bringing the massive power of the state down on the head of "wokeness." Another case of conservatives being fine with the power of the state when it suits their objectives. As Tombs said, it's really the public's job to reject this stuff.

Trump will take revenge? Wishful thinking.

He had four years to accomplish some swamp draining, and what happened?

One thing I happen to agree with DeSantis on in the fight against "wokeness"" is his campaign to fight for parent's rights which was a major hot button "wokeness" issue. A lot of the public were vociferously trying to reject the "wokeness" and they wanted change. DeSantis helped bring about that.

This is my big complaint with DeSantis - he's essentially replacing one form of government intrusion with another. And that seems to be what he's run on. Just another "us vs. them" politician.

It very much should be "us vs. them" when it comes to what DeSantis has been fighting in FL. Pedophiles and Groomers should be given no quarter.

Well you see DeSantis doesn't care about the corrupt bureaucratic administrative state in DC only Trump does so he wouldn't try to fight the corruption.

    "Drain the Swamp"
A phrase with a nebulous definition. Ask 100 people and you'll get 100 different definitions. There may be some overlap in general, but no distinct and clear definition. But hey, Ron's gonna "reconstitutionalize" the government....if he gets two terms(his words). Ugh! He seemed like a good governor for Florida. However, little to nothing Ron has done as governor will translate to president. It just won't. He can't ****-can rogue state prosecutors. He flip-flopped on Ukraine (side note - we don't belong in Ukraine!). WTF exactly is Ron gonna do? Replace department heads? Trump tried that and the swamp said no. Ron's gonna get different results? BS. I don't want the lesser of two evils. I want a bull in a china shop. Ron may be the lesser evil but he's no bull. Ron might turn out to be the best option available but he's pure establishment. Jeb? Ryan? Mr. [insert billionaires name]? No. Thanks. Been chasing those promises for decades. I'm can't vote for Trump's echo and expect to get better results.

¡Ron! If you like your establishment, you can keep your establishment.

In my opinion the culture war is a matter for the public to fight rather than the government.
This times ten! Citizens shouldn't need the government to dictate what bathrooms to use. Outrageous that people clamor for fed direction.... to use the appropriate bathroom!

When has the corrupt bureaucratic administrative state worked as hard beneficially for the GOP as they have to benefit the Democrats?
Watergate, Iran Contra, Teapot Dome... that's just what pops into my head.

The Democrats thrive on the corruption.
EDIT: You're just trying to define the "bad guys". Politicians thrive on corruption.

That's a good list (although I'm not sure about Watergate being pro R). I also think KG1 is right. The establishment left and their cohorts are far greater scofflaws than establishment R's. And I don't even believe in the "party system". What? I gotta cheer for a team? Nah, they're all crooks.

But the government is fighting the culture war or more correctly the government IS the culture war. The people didn't clamor for fed direction - the fed jumped in.
