After the miserable winter I've been trying to spend as much time outdoors as possible. Last year we paid to have the front and side yards fenced in, just posts and woven wire. We'd planned to have the same company come back out and finish it this year but I told the wife if she'd buy me a Milwaukee framing nailer I'd put the face boards on myself and I just finished up the horizontal boards today. Big job and my butt is thoroughly kicked but I'm really pleased with how it turned out thus far. The lumber for the vertical boards should be delivered tomorrow and I'll finish it up.

I picked this trike up a few years ago in Speedway and finally got around to fixing it up. I insulated the steel box, installed a cash box inside of it and it holds six dozen eggs and a frozen cooler block to keep things from getting too hot. Unfortunately no one seems to understand that we're actually selling eggs out of it so I'm going to have some signs made up as well. I've had two neighbors stop by while I was working on the fence who said they thought it was just for decoration.

    Nice job, so far...
That does look like a bit of work, but that kind of stuff is a labor of love.
I bust my butt during most weeks, but even if I wear myself out on the weekends, working on my own property doesn't seem so much like "work".

    100% agree.

I work a desk job during the week and look forward to kicking my own ass out in the pasture or on the land and coming home smelling like a dirty farm animal. Then I get the whole week to let my body recover but will usually sprinkle in holes with the dog on Tuesday/Thursday or Monday/Wednesday/Friday to make sure I’m keeping active.

There’s nothing better than owning land.

Great looking work. Are you planning on containing large animals in your pasture or is the fence aesthetic?
We've got four horses, two goats and two pigs but they're in the back pasture which just has a top board. The area with the four boards is primarily to contain the dogs and keep the coyotes/fox away from the chickens.

They will look good in the pen! Be sure to install a hot wire or two, especially on the top of the fence.
We've had the horses back there for three years without much trouble and haven't had a hot wire. It would have prevented me from a couple of fence repairs, Murphy knocks a few top board loose every year scratching on it but it's not that big of a deal, he doesn't have any trees to scratch on. I tried to build them a nice scratching post but my idea didn't pan out.
