    Incomplete definition . . . only mentions its usage in feeding semi-auto firearms in use. Much broader, very old usage. We had enormous ammunition storage magazines in underground bunkers for everything from cases and pallets of 9mm Parabellum to 8" howitzer shells and powder bags -- to Dragon, Javelin, TOW and Hellfire, and some stuff that tripped Geiger counters.

    When i heard someone say they were loading a clip or such, i would come back with...a clip is what a lady puts in her hair and a magazine is what slides into your gun. Last week my daughters bf said something along those lines. When i said about the clip, he looked at me funny, thought about it a minute and said, that makes sense. My daughter just started laughing at him. I don't have any firearms that use stripper clips, so clip doesn't work with my terminology.

    I am reminded of my visit to the USS Arizona memorial last September.
