:): C'mon man. Stop and think before you go off. Read the words in front of you. They mean what they mean.

So, you're saying NPR would not commission a poll to be conducted by an organization sympathetic to their worldview and in a manner likely to deliver a result useful for propaganda purposes?
You quipped something about 40% of the jettas liking Trump, as if 100% of the people had polled were "Jettas". All I said in reply was that it's not a poll of NPR listeners. And then you go on and on about what you think I meant. Here's what I meant. The poll. The one I quoted. Was not a poll. Of. NPR Listeners. Therefore. It was not a poll consisting of 100% Jettas. In further commentary, among those polled. There may even have been a Bug or two.

It always amazes me that folks like you will say (paraphrasing) 'The left wants Trump and DeSantis to fight so that a Democrat can win again, so Trump bad, fall in line neanderthal'
Dude. You're getting confused again. You're bringing up the thing where you insisted that Soros was endorsing Trump. But the full context of what he actually said was nothing of the sort. I did not just say it. I repeated what Soros actually said. He said he wanted Trump and DeSantis to fight it out and wanted DeSantis to win, because he's sure Trump would run 3rd party and split the R vote. If you want to keep making **** up, you can do that. But I'll keep pointing out your folly.

but never stop to think that 'The left wants Trump taken out of the picture by any means possible,

Sure. I do think about that. Nothing I've said refutes that. What I've said is that you're getting confused about things. Like the poll. It wasn't a poll of NPR listeners. Being sponsored by NPR, it likely skewed D. Those 40% are probably legit people who would vote for Trump though. And it pretty much tracks with polls over the last few years. About 35-40% of the population are Trumpers. Throw in those who, like me, prefer not-Trump, but would vote for him if he won the nomination, and that could make the difference, if all things were fair.

so maybe we should not support that desire because the left does not like us or the things we believe in and anything they want regarding our choice of candidate will not be for our own good'
I think you're seeing stars now. No one in this conversation is supporting D's desire to keep Trump out of the picture. I'm not a Trumper. I'm not rooting for him. That doesn't mean I support the left. I'll support whoever I think is best, and if that's not the guy you support, no need to be pissy. You pick yours. I pick mine. I'm not letting bat **** crazy Democrats choose the candidate I want to support.

Edit: Being anti-Trump scratches an itch you can't admit you have, even to yourself
It's not an itch. I don't hate the guy. But I'd rather have someone else if I think someone else is better. And it's not even election season yet, so I've not made that determination. I just hope I don't have to support Trump. If that triggers you, I'm not sure how you'll cope, but I'm sure you will.

Would you answer the phone if caller ID said 'NPR'?

Would anyone who isn't already on that spectrum? You underestimate the power of self-selection
I know. Purple. But this seems to be a passive/aggressive purple, so I feel like I have to point out the obvious. I suspect it doesn't say NPR on the caller ID.

Let me ask you this. Do you think a majority of Americans want Trump to be the next president? Remember, that's not the same thing as asking if people would prefer Trump over Biden. I suspect even some D's would say yes to that.

Any poll can and will be biased in some way

That's why I like to cite the Real Clear aggregation of polling. Still not perfectly neutral, because it would be the vector sum of the individual biases of its constituent polls, but is likely to be more broadly truthful about the direction of public sentiment

And that sentiment does not appear to be against Trump and in fact his numbers are only strengthening over time

    YLMMV
It's all in how the pollsters weight things. A lot of the mainstream polls heavily weight towards Democrats, and so they often favor D's by a few points. The polls in 2016 turned out to be mostly right in numbers, but in swing states, the margin of error was enough to put Trump over. He won 3 key states by less than 100K votes, which could have flipped the election to Hillary and still have been within the margin of error.

These don't inspire a lot of confidence... this MAGA groupthink is going to get us 4 more years of Biden.

Ain't gonna' be no DeSantis/Biden match up if he can't beat Trump in the primaries. Your MSM groupthink is going to get us 4 more years of the communist manifesto

Who gives a **** about the general election polls this far out?

The primary is the time to select the candidate of your choice, not some squishy RINO.
    Hahahaha. This is hilarious.

Trumpers: Polls show Trump is ahead.

Reality checkers: Uh. What about this?

    Trumpers: polls don’t matter.

You can’t make this **** up.

Wear teal colored glasses. Makes you think everything is teal.

In a hypothetical 2024 Republican Primary, former President Donald Trump leads Governor DeSantis by three points, 47% to 44%. No other candidate surpasses four percent. Among announced candidates, Trump, Nikki Haley, and Vivek Ramaswamy, Trump’s support increases to 79%, Haley to 16%, and Ramaswamy holds 6%. A majority, 69%, of DeSantis voters move to Trump if the primary were to remain between three announced candidates, while 20% would move to Haley.

You guys keep attacking as if DeSantis is my savior as much as Trump is yours. I don’t owe any politician my loyalty. So I’ll keep laughing.

Some people prefer rose colored glasses. Some teal. I prefer color neutral shading on my sunglasses. Lets me see the world in its true color.
