I’m currently in the market for an AR-15 platform rifle and I’m looking for people who have either shot or owned the Springfield Victor or the Springfield Saint. Looking for advice and opinions on how they perform and if they are worth the money. If there are other options in this price range that people recommend feel free to let me know and I’ll look into them! Thanks in advance.

I have a Saint Victor AR pistol (yes I'm waiting for the dust to settle before doing anything).
Trigger was meh. I hated the "shaved" handguard. I like more usable real estate up front if I need it.
All in all, the Saint runs well. That being said, I've completely rebuilt mine from a 7.5" to an 11.5".
Everything has been replaced and upgraded except the upper, lower and brace.
Good guns. Decent price. No concerns. No regrets.

Thanks man! And amazing set up you have. A buddy of mine that lives out of state said he has one and he was complaining about gasses. But other than that I’ve heard very good things on it. There always sold out by me so I haven’t had chance to get my hands on one.

I never noticed the gas blowback to be unusual at all.
I did install an adjustable block and a low mass BCG.
That set up allowed me to dial down the amount of gas significantly,
I assume the Saint right off the shelf is, like so many other ARs, over gassed to assure reliability.
I've got mine dialed down to eject at about 4:00 shooting 55 grain 5.56. Somewhat under gassed but everything works fine. Cycles perfectly. I also installed a Geissele B-GRF trigger. Nice!
    Good luck with your decision!

Thank you for the info! New to the ar world I’ve owned a handful of Al’s but never an ar. So I’m going to grab one.

Cool beans. You'll like it and it will serve you well.
I love the AR platform. With so many 3rd party manufacturers, the sky is the limit as to what you can put together.
I'm always trying out new parts / philosophies on what works and why.
I've only done 2 complete builds but I've totally revamped an LE6920 and the Saint.
Thoroughly enjoy the whole process. Search for parts, research parts, acquiring parts, building and putting the gun through it's paces.

Plus it gives me something to photograph. BONUS!!!

    Enjoy!

I bought a Saint Victor a couple of months ago. I have been out of state of and on so I haven't had a chance to shoot it. I found it locally for a good price. I have the Victor with the B5 furniture. The fit and finish seems excellent. I like the fact that it has a pinned gas block. Also has a tension screw in the lower to snug up the fit to the upper. Mine is nice and tight as is. I look forward to getting it out in a week or two.
Only change I have made so far was to swap out for a different charging handle.

I think the Springfield Saint line up is a great series of ARs that far exceeds its "mid-level" tier pricing.
Good looking modern aesthetics, well built and dependable, from a quality name brand for less than $1K.
Mine (7.5" Saint Victor pistol) even came with a decent Springfield logo soft case. Sweet!

Ruger and M&P are right around the same price point as the Saint line up and a Colt is just a bit more $$.
I did some trouble shooting of a straight out of the box Ruger 5.56 that wouldn't cycle correctly.
    Consistent FTF, FTE issues.

Quality control missed some rough machining issues with the bolt.
Had to send the gun back for a bolt replacement.

The company was easy enough to deal with, handled the problem and return expeditiously.
But still, right out of the box? Buzz kill.

Colt LE6920- extensively modified, Aero Precision M4 E1 build, Noveske Gen 3 Shorty build, Springfield Saint Victor- extensively modified.

Thanks man. I'm pretty proud of them all. The Aero is my fav (at the moment). That IWRC would be a nice gun to have and you don't see them around much. Something out of the ordinary.
