I guess I will be putting on My Trainers hat at our homestead. For some here may be aware that my wife is a Middle school math teacher. Not exactly an environment that welcomes conservative thinking.

She was approached by some of her coworkers whom in the past have really questioned her beliefs to put it mildly. We go to the same church as some of the other teachers, so I personally know some of them outside of school functions etc. Additionally I am well aware that many of them think I am an arrogant ***. Which I am fine with I will make no apologies for excelling at what I do.

Well it seems that she has been asked to see if I would be willing help them select a handgun for personal protection, edc, and instruct them as to the proper usage. Props to her for taking the high road. So I am considering following her down the high road and donating some time and effort to assist them.

So I guess what I am getting at is is sometimes you have to put aside your personal differences and offer up an olive branch.

Great opportunity to expand their knowledge.

    Good luck.

I would say you have a very good chance of winning at least most of them over. During my range career, I lost count of how many people came in that were horrified by the thought of even holding a firearm, but went on to become regular range members/customers.

Hoping so, I am of the belief that they have a lot to learn beyond basic firearms safety. I am fairly certain they have never touched a firearm in their life. My hope is to instruct them, beyond general safety and proficiency . My goal is is to at least make them aware of SA and a basic understanding of threat assessments . Additionally understanding these are educators so perhaps they will be willing to put in the time and effort to succeed.

"Condemn in public, approach in private" is always the story, isn't it?

Take what you can get and do the good that you can do. We don't get to convert people in large swaths with the aid of media. We have to convert one by one, but when we do, those people never go back.

Sounds like their "arrogance" view of you could have a bit of jealousy hidden in there somewhere ?
Whatever gun they may choose , suggest a set of Olive Tree wooden grips for it .

Not sure, but In all honestly, there probably is an element of truth in their belief. But my job is not to make friends .
