Guy, the indiana attorney on INGO, who has defended Indiana cases and studied the various law cases in Indiana once said that the type of ammo (fmj, commercial, home defense, reloads, etc,) has not come up in a criminal trial.
However his opinion was to use whatever law enforcement uses (hp, home defense stuff) as most juries will see that as you are using what the police is using which is state approved.
Of all the people on this forum to assume gender...:nono::rofl:

I wasn't asking for permission so to speak, I'm asking his thought process. Melensdad could throw a grenade at his attacker for all I care. I have done my own research and testing for what I use, I enjoy learning how others get to their own decisions.

I apologize if I came off as argumentative. Not the intention.

Truth is, there is no perfect bullet for every situation. They are all a compromise, so you make your best choice, make sure it goes bang every time you pull the trigger, and hope for the best. I've always stocked up on Gold Dot hollow point, but have to admit that I'm intrigued by the speedy lightweights.

In your own house, you have the advantage of knowing every angle, and where to avoid shooting if you have children or pets or spouse or whatever.

I've been watching videos on the 5.7x28 round, now that a few more manufacturers are getting into that game. As a long time fan of the 22 magnum, and knowing the damage it does on varmints as big as coyote, a centerfire version with even better ballistics may be a future self-defense round for me. 20 rounds of 40 grain Gold Dot running at 1800 feet per second out of a pistol, with very little recoil , I'm liking the sound of that.

    ??? Confused ???

    Assumed whose gender?

Guy R., the indiana attorney, is a causassian male attorney.

He came to NWI years ago after to present his class on Indiana law at cabelas.

Since then some have gone down to the Indy area to take the updated version.

Think you might have missed what I was trying to say, FMJ is probably the most used/produced type of bullet out there compared to a bullet that is designed to penetrate and expand. The comparison could be twisted negatively not in your favor.
I think you're missing MY point.
Any point can be argued EITHER WAY by a lawyer.

For instance, someone shoveled their sidewalk, someone slipped on it, and it was argued because they shoveled it, they were responsible.

So, in another lawsuit, someone slipped on a sidewalk that was NOT shoveled, and it was argued that they were responsible, because they had NOT shoveled it.

Unless it is codified by law, either side can be argued in a court of law.
And even if it's codified, it sometimes works it's way in.

Exactly - anything can creep its way into a court action. There used to be a bullet called a Black Talon and people were worried about the name so much that they wouldn't buy and use them because of it. It wasn't about the properties of the bullet, just the name. Winchester took them off the market. But they have a very similar bullet now with a tamer name and nobody blinks.

Disregard my posts. I was not trying to argue or **** anyone off. 2 for 2.
This is a "safe space" for all of NWI members. We will call each other names, talk about your poop issues, complain about the rest of the state, laugh at the smelling gun crowds in CP, say this gun is better than that one, hold our guns sideways since we really know how to shoot and come tomorrow repeat it all over again without a care in the world to what we were debating the day before.

So no need to say forget about it.
Unless you are claiming you don't love hello kitty LeGo! Then it's off the island with you. ;)
