Watched it last night. I sorts have mixed emotions. Not because I own any of those pistols he speaks, because I don't, but some of those it's a sample size of 1. Now the P320, he said he's had at least 8 or 9 and he comes to the same conclusion

That dude is running out of ideas for videos. He was at least interesting when he first started.

I think Aaron from Sage Dynamics ruined it for me with all his actual data and experience on a specific topic. Outside of Jerry he's the only one I really watch anymore.

Back when I shot matches regularly the 320's choked a lot.
I would say the top guns I witnessed failing were.

    1911's - A lot of malfunctions.
XD - Didn't see them at the matches often, but when they were there was a good chance it would not finish the match.
    P320- A lot of malfunctions.

That said you don't ever really know what someone has done to their pistols or what mags they run. When you need 5 or 6 mags you see people start buying the cheap stuff.
I also shot for years with a CZ75 and I've heard a lot of people talk about them failing and mine has been boringly reliable.

I watched it yesterday too. I could see the cheap ones failing, but, my P320’s…..all 4 of them have been very reliable. As reliable as any Glock I’ve owned and they were all 100% even with Korean mags. I run Armscor/ACT mags in mine for training and range use and still, 100% reliable. Personally, I think his grip interacts with the P320 series pistols in some way that impedes slide movement. Just me though. Like I said, mine are 100% reliable.

1911s and XD's for sure. I don't see a lot of 320s at matches except the x5 and yes it has a lot of problems but I sorta figures that is because everyone tinkers with them.

I wasn't aware of widespread issues with civilian P320's. I am aware that the military and multiple police departments are having unintentional discharges with them. But not operating reliably is news to me.

Need to put more rounds through my P320 compact that was issued to the Wyoming Highway Patrol. The agency dropped them a few months ago after a trooper claimed his went off while holstered. I put 200 rounds through it with Federal 115 FMJ and didn't have any issues with it

I built two of mine with MUP-1’s. Purchased standard caliber change kits, X grip modules, P80 grip modules, I mean, I built the whole fire control unit……zero problems, zero. I ain’t nobody great, thousands of rounds….still, zero problems.

I like his videos typically and have had some problems with 320s so it was kind of interesting to see someone with similar experience with a larger sample size

I should clarify that most of the ones I saw were the early ones. I haven't been able to shoot many matches since 2019 so it would have been before that.

It is hard for me to trust any newer polymer sig. I really enjoy their classic metal guns but the new stuff to me seems to be full of problems. YMMV

Most of the 1911s people bring to these matches are the ones with crazy tight tolerances, that a little grime will gum up.

I have an ATI GI I got for $400 bucks.. yeah its got a bit of slide rattle, but I have shot the hell out of the thing and it feeds any 230 hardball like you wouldn't believe. And the trigger on it, is pretty freakin decent.. I use nothing but USGI 7 round mags on the sucker.

That said, that is one thing about the Beretta pistols as well, the things just freakin work..

The highlighted part was not my experience. There were some higher end for sure, but for every one of them there were probably 5 on the more lower end. Lots of Springfield, RIA, Ruger, Taurus, Sig.

Well I have seen lots of all of those fail, and none of them were the "Base Model".. they were always some model that maker tarted up a bit, using some sort of dodgy extra capacity mag. Or its the shortened slide model, which introduces issues.

At least in my experience if you use a GI type 1911, with GI type mags that are in good order.. 1911s just freakin work.

I have not shared his experience with the P320 at all. I have a P320 Compact that has only experienced 1 malfunction in 4 years, a single stovepipe. Other than that one malfunction, it always went "bang" with every trigger pull.

I watched the video because of all the xd talk in here. Glad to see it didn’t make the list. I still have a full size on the bed stand. Never had any issues with it, probably about 12 years old.
