The passing of WR's father, and subsequent reminiscing by 88' and others, brought back memories of my father.
My dad (1st photo below) was an identical twin (2nd photo).

He and his twin were born in 1912. Being my grandfather was the only professional photographer in Kenton, OH, the twins were the stars of many, many photos.

As with many men of his generation, it was hard for my dad to express emotions.
But still .... I have good memories.

Just doing some sharing on this Sunday !

Evidently, this style of photography, which must have taken an enormous amount of set-up, and direction .... was in vogue at the time.

My grandmother holds the newborn twins, complete with (2) attendant nurses. These photos were taken on glass plates (very heavy) !

I never knew my grandparents on my father's side ... they'd passed, before I was born.

A quick artsy-fartsy w/ #1. My brother got me a dice tower for my bday, got around to building it yesterday. Tested Sis's gel pens on the 2" token for effectiveness on balsa wood. This is gonna be a fun one. Gotta finish my castle first, but this one will be a breeze with pens vs brushes.

One of my kids loves d&d.
I'm like hey I never got into that, so I don't know dick about it but I saw there was a learning course on it at a local library, so would you like me to sign us up for it and we could do it together?
    Answer: NO Dad

    I'm not cool enough lol
My brothers get together every Saturday since I left for the marines to play d&d. They’ve since then added a friend (who’s now a brother to us) and a cousin. They have been playing for over a decade.
Cheaper than boozing, or whatever. And now they all work at Subaru as team leaders and one is a group leader. So they are doing alright and they did it together. NERDS!

Funny how a hobby can bond people.

I get "the look" often. I'd rather play Global Thermonuclear War or a nice game of chess than watch NFL.

Not quite D&D. Nerdy board game, yes. I'm just not into so much theatrics while playing. Same concept, different delivery.
What game, my brothers started a campaign on some other similar game. It’s been half a year…. I can’t remember the name. But they called it the grown up version of d&d
