    Sorry....I have black powder supplies to buy and now I need a flint lock.
    Remember that BP needs to be compressed when loading, no air space. Your Colts will take between 18 and 22 grains, by volume , so you will need a measure.

    A trick to reducing this time lag is to keep the priming charge away from the vent hole. it significantly shortens the prime flash to main charge ignition time. Use 4F powder for best results, but back in the day shooters just used the same material that was in the main charge.
