Gen 3 style extended Glock mag releases on a defensive pistol are a bad idea. Makes the pistol a lot more prone to unintended mag releases while handling in a defensive encounter.
I believe PSA's plan was to improve that situation but they over engineered a bit.. The relief around the mag release would have solved the problem but I think they redesigned the mag release forcing you to push it farther into the pistol to release the mag or the wire is somehow stiffer. I've measured the diameter of the wire and it's the same as factory glock.
It can be a problem on Gen 3 Glocks but it can be easily solved by a good holster design. Holster designers have figured it out how to shield the safety while still allowing you to remove the mag with the gun in the holster.. As always YYMV

I did see several videos of policeman in shooting dropping their magazines
One in I believe Houston dropped his 3 or more times, he had a red dot and he may have had an extended release as well. It was not a good thing in that situation. He reloaded pretty good but he kept dropping them. He ended up picking up a magazine or two he had dropped earlier to finish the fight. Good thing he had backup.
I can't imagine what was going on in the vid you describe.. If the mag falls out of the gun that easily there's a serious problem with the gun or a training problem.

Here it is he dropped two then emptied a magazine, and ran up grabbed one he dropped earlier. Looks like he only had three magazines total. I bet he is carrying more now.
Take a look it could be lack training, and I believe he had it set up like a competition gun they said with extended magazine release, and magazine extensions. Go to 1:40 to bypass the ads etc.

Back to the issue of the magazine release difficulty. A possible cause for the difficulty (maybe probable) is the strength of the release spring. Looking in the magazine well, you can see the spring, a (approx) 1" piece of wire that must be bent to the left side of the pistol, around an arc built into the frame. "Perhaps" the tensile strength of this wire (spring) is too strong causing the difficulty. Working the magazine release over and over may cause the spring to lose some of the strength. Lubrication probably helps to reduce friction in the various contact points. Is this a design problem? The above are just my thoughts.

Hard to tell in the chaos but it appears he got off more than 1 shot before the mag fell out suggesting the officer hit the mag release or a mechanical issue with the mag or mag release.. Same thing happened on the second mag so either the mag release is very worn or he is hitting the mag release while firing would be my guess.. Only issue I've ever had was mag release being bumped while in the holster releasing the mag and I've found a properly constructed holster will keep that from happening for me but your body shape and where you carry the gun could affect that.

I got my dagger humor from
Guy that commented on your ad claiming dagger was 299 with screenshots of a totally different model.

Picked up the OD Green Dagger deal with the 10 magazines a few weeks ago... went to range today with all 10 loaded up...

First 150 rounds, 0 malfunctions, and dead accurate... I like it!
Was there ever a doubt lol.

Im surprised the couple listed in classifieds haven’t sold (mine included). Maybe I’m weird
But I’ll pay 50-75 more to have today than wait on ordering and shipping

Couldn’t resist any longer! I almost bought one a month ago but ended up with a Canik Mete. PSA inundated me with their ads and I finally gave in. Got today’s special in FDE with 10 mags and case. I messed up something during checkout and backed out. Up popped an offer for another 5% off. I went back through checkout and ended up $355 and change with free shipping. USDS said $20 cash for the transfer so I think that’s a great deal! Looking forward to trying it out.

For the money I’m not sure it can be beat. Only thing close imo are the eaa or sar polymer Cz clones
