This has the hallmarks of a bias-confirming story. So far it is evidence free and I would not believe it without some hard evidence

Crypto people are pretty uniformly sketchy, and FTX is by far not the only crypto exchange to collapse, it is just the biggest

Occam's razor would suggest that in the absence of more evidence that FTX and its head were profiteering from double dealing with their clients funds and that its CEO was a heavy donor to Dems not just because he was of an age to be ideologically aligned with them but he was engaging in the time honored practice of buying the regulation (or lack of same) that you want. That it was with other people's money just reinforces that impression of alignment with Democrat ideals
