I would remind her that as a Democrat she supported a reinstatement of a federal ban on "weapons of war" which happened to include semi-automatic rifles like Ar-15s.

She was also in favor of magazine capacity restrictions and expanded UBCs.
Exactly. If she never really supported that stuff but said it to align with democrats, she’s a liar and a stereotypical politician—one that says whatever they have to say to get elected. That, we don’t need any more of. If she’s had an epiphany and a true change of heart, that’d be great. Welcome in the boat Tulsi. But until we can discern which one she is, meh. I hope it’s the latter. If it’s the former, she can never be trusted.

    Boom:

Maybe this is evidence that Democrats of her ilk (versus the Communists now in control of that Party), are having their normalcy bias overwhelmed and having to face the uncomfortable truth of the Party's change.

Wow, I think I just looked on the bright side of something... SWMBO'd would be astounded.

Oh I believe also that she said those things because that's what Democrats wanted to hear. At this point I'm remaining cautiously optimistic that she has had a true epiphany and I say that because if she has not and is pandering once again then she will lose all credibility with those that she is trying to convince that she has had a change of heart and will be shunned by both parties.

Not a problem here. I still liked the pic whether it was Tulsi or not. :):
I checked a couple other groups of pics of Tulsi; same thing, only bikini pics are of Padma.? I'm guessing there are no pics of Tulsi in a bikini, so, they show Padma to try and fool us. lol Jerks! They didn't fool you though, did they? On closer inspection, Tulsi has a bigger butt than Padma. That's ok, I just think Tulsi is so pretty.

There's been a lot of mutterings and testing the waters on a new 3rd party formed by moderate former Republicans and Democrats tired of the extremes within their own camps. Any bets this is related?

I've been saying this for quite awhile. We need a party for us normal, everyday folk. I think people think it will hurt their party. I think it will hurt both parties equally. So, let's do it.

Another give away that it wasn't Tulsi is because Padma has bigger boobage than her.

Anyway, this has been an interesting sidetrack.

We will see. I do surveys for airline miles and some of it is political polling. There was a big flurry of surveys on acceptability of a 3rd party and what do you consider "moderate" a little while back so someone was definitely testing the waters.

Perhaps. All she said was that she is leaving the Democrat party and she called for other likeminded independent Democrats to join her. I don't think it's a call to join the Republican party per se even though she said a lot of things that appeal to Republicans. At least she hasn't come out yet and said she was switching parties to be a Republican just that she is leaving the Democrat party. I think at one point though she briefly said something about traditional liberalism and that ain't the current Democrat party.

Maybe she wants to get back to that bygone definition.

Who knows at this point until she actually commits to what political makeup that she wants to identify with. Right now, it doesn't seem to be the current Democrat party.

I saw that she left the Democrat Party.
That doesn't mean I'd vote for her though.
It's just that the Democrats have gone too hard left even for her.

I've seen her interviews several times, and I classify her as a lefty I could have a civilized discussion with, THOUGH we'd disagree on MANY things.
There still are a FEW old school leftys like this left, but not many.

Tulsi reminds me of a late uncle by marriage that I used to talk politics at length with.
We could debate politics for hours, but disagreed on many things.

He was an "old school" journalist who could AT LEAST defend why he believed what he did, UNLIKE most leftys, and he never deflected or attacked me personally.
Regardless of politics, he was a good guy and passed away about 8-10 years ago.

...hence the discussion of a new 3rd party. I wasn't talking about her joining the Republican party, though I suppose that is an option as well. The idea is Democrats and Republicans *both* leaving their current party to form a new 3rd party. If it comes to fruition or not, who knows, but it's a better idea than a bunch of no names continuing to do nothing as Libertarians or Greens or whatever for a viable 3rd party.

No I wasn't suggesting that you were talking about her joining the Republican party. She may very well be entertaining ideas about a third party. What I meant was that I can see your point because she has not yet said she was leaving to join the Republican party. She has only asked independent Democrats to join her in leaving.

The question remains is to do what exactly other than just leaving the current Democrat party? What is she proposing as an alternative to entice them into getting on board with. I don't believe that she could convince them to go as far as switching to the Republican party and I certainly don't think she can do so if she comes right out and says she is now a Republican and that could be the reason why she hasn't.

Maybe she is angling for a third party instead. She needs to clarify what her future political intentions are because I don't think she is trusted by the Democrats or Republicans right now. :dunno:

Maybe it's like cancelling your PayPal and venmo accounts. You're not yet sure what you're going to replace that service with, but because their politics have gone too far for you to tolerate, you've cancelled to prove a point and possibly exert some influence to keep them, or any other company watching, between the lines in the future.
