I got my tax stamp the other day. I love the ability to reach out accurately, and now with the added capability of muffling the report a bit, and preventing any flash signature, that should help me out should I need to do so without drawing too much unwanted attention someday.

Problem is, that would also work for other as well. When out on the property taking photos with the new can, I got to thinking... How vulnerable is your home.. from on your own property?

Maybe I'm weird, but I do walk my land with my dog. Quite often. She loves to run around, and explore, and it gives me a chance to see if anything has changed since last we were out.

Trip wires, punji pits, and numerous other things are your friend.

I'm getting ready to go patrol my property on my lawn mower right now.
I do my motorized patrol weekly, the dogs do the daily patrols. Riding mower suspensions aren’t made for property that is patrolled by dogs that think they need to recreate the digging of the Panama Canal. I love my dogs, and they provide a great service in the security department, I wouldn’t feel safe without them, but I curse them every time I mow!

I look around everyday, walk the ridge to back property lines while peering down one bottom on the way there and the other on the way back.

The security of the house (under construction), will be a work in progress, trying to achieve a one way in, one way out type scenario that puts visitors, invited and uninvited alike, at a disadvantage.
Once your done…..ROCKS along the drive…..boulder type….spaced at 100 meter intervals……a few clicks on the scope…..:biggun::biggun::biggun:

I walk my property frequently. I also have a few game cams around. They aren’t easily seen, are better quality than most of the “security cameras.” I mostly use them for wildlife but they also tell me if any people have been cruising around as wel.

I patrol my 80+ acres fairly often. Deer season more than the summer. Have found uninvited guests, both daytime and night. PITA really. Yes I can tell if someone has been around or other than the usual critters via prints or camera pics. Even spooked up a cougar once that the GW said didn't exist.

Yep. I patrol our 22 acres year round, just to keep my fingers on the pulse of the land woods, fields, stream etc. Check the barn for humans and critters, monitor game trails, check cameras (although they are live feed to my phone. Driveway alarm alerts us when someone is coming down the drive and gives us enough warning.

I have a small lot at the end of a dead-end street. I can see a vehicle and immediately know if it's supposed to be in the neighborhood or not. I haven't had a single issue in the 21 years I've lived here. But I keep an eye out constantly.

I have a neighbor on one side with 40 acres and another neighbor with 30 acres on the other side of our 250-acre block of land. We've watched out for each other for many, many, years. Anything suspicious, or funky we let each other know.

It's important to get along with your neighbors.
And even more important to have GOOD neighbors
