I got my tax stamp the other day. I love the ability to reach out accurately, and now with the added capability of muffling the report a bit, and preventing any flash signature, that should help me out should I need to do so without drawing too much unwanted attention someday.

Problem is, that would also work for other as well. When out on the property taking photos with the new can, I got to thinking... How vulnerable is your home.. from on your own property?

Maybe I'm weird, but I do walk my land with my dog. Quite often. She loves to run around, and explore, and it gives me a chance to see if anything has changed since last we were out.

My wife says I'm nuts... I can tell if someone has driven in the driveway or walked through the yard. My dad taught me to look around and noticed things out of the ordinary. I did put up cameras several years ago but notice things as soon as I'm pulling in the driveway.

Yeah dude, sounds like you’re nuts. Lol kidding I do the same thing. I can’t tell if someone’s been in my driveway that’s a different kind of nutty but I definitely get the rest of it.

I look around everyday, walk the ridge to back property lines while peering down one bottom on the way there and the other on the way back.

The security of the house (under construction), will be a work in progress, trying to achieve a one way in, one way out type scenario that puts visitors, invited and uninvited alike, at a disadvantage.

I don't have much to patrol, but I go out with the dogs and they inspect every square inch.

The youngest dog, can literally smell anything outside the house, within about 50 feet. This is with the doors and windows closed.
If a cat, squirrel, or person crosses our unfenced portion of the yard, he will go nuts. He smells the mice outside, and howls to go out, and then proceeds to hunt them. He's caught and ate 2 mice.

I prefer to have perimeter trails that can be quickly checked on a two-up. Of course knowing what you are looking for and if anyone has been there is also necessary. Best practice is a check everyday spring, summer, and fall and twice a week in the winter…

The dog goes on a perimeter check about dusk every night with me. The big one on leash and the little one loose. (She stays close) I removed a fence line overgrown with small junk trees and brush and now can see about everything on the property with the eye.

patrol no. Semi ruck yes. Wife calls it playing army. Maybe it is a bit.

I live in on a 1/2 acre in the middle of a Neighborhood. I’d say I am pretty susceptible to reconnaissance of my home. But I can tell if someone was hiding in the bushes.
