Ok so am I the only one that just uses their phone for texts and emails? So I purchased my new phone a Motorola Power 22.

I swear the screen is like having a drive in theater in your pocket! So is this the new trend? Are they anticipating phones will replace laptops?

What ever happened to you know smaller is better?

    Online porn.
Ever notice that once phones were getting smaller until the advent of unlimited data plans and streaming porn sites? ;)

I had not thought of that. But it seems like a logical explanation.
In all seriousness, a modern smart phone is pretty much like having a computer in your hand. You can do computer like things like the obvious (surfing the internet) to working with spreadsheets.

Remember back when the trend was to have the smallest phone you could have to be cool? Remember the Star TAC phones?

I think you may be onto something!

As an aside, does anyone have any recommendations for a large screen smartphone? Asking for a friend. His screen is only about 2"x 4.5".

Edit: He's also worried about starting to need glasses as his vision is failing.

Their are quite a few INGOers who only access the site via their phone. I'm not one of them, but I do access the site a lot with my Note 9.

Lotta other daily things also. Notes, calendar, alarm clock, timers, voice rec order, weather, scanner radio app, etc.

Entertainment is a heavy user on my phone also. Online radio, news, TV, YouTube.

Couldn't imagine life without a camera in my pocket. I take give-or-take +/- a half dozen pics a day. Pics of anything and everything. Everything backed up to Google and Amazon.

The modern smart phone is actually better than the computer. It's always with you, right there in your pocket.

A picture is worth 1000 words. I use my phone’s camera to “take notes” that are far more informative than about any handwritten note I could jot down.

I may relax my protocol a bit. kind of funny Guy at Best Buy tells my wife we may not have time to transfer his phone data we only have 30 minutes before we close. Wife tells him I think we will be ok he reluctantly starts to transfer the user data, done in less than 5 minutes lol.

Stuff you can do with your phone:

Most libraries have ebooks you can download to read.

You can get electronic editions of many publications with a subscription.

Every streaming service both for music and movies has an app.

Use your phone as a GPS both on the highway and off-road.

Take both voice notes and written notes.

    Scan documents into editable files.

Combined with other devices monitor your home from wherever you are.

    Your phone is a computer.

Since I broke down and bought an iPhone last year, I rarely use my tablet anymore. And if you have a local library account, they have online services that include books to read, and most major magazines to read, all for free.
Also, if you have any cameras around your home, you can get alerts on your phone whenever they see motion, no matter where you are.

Your ”friend” has a common condition for friends of a certain age…
