    Everyone has heard "Calling Baton Rouge" by Garth Brooks, but it's a cover. The Oak Ridge Boys did it first in 1978, but that's not the version I prefer. In 1989, New Grass Revival did a version that is, IMHO, better than the original or Garth's.

    This is right up there with Johnny Cash’s Hurt as one of the best covers ever.


    I agree. I believe I may have listened to this one more than Paul Simon's. And I grew up listening to Paul's on the radio.

    I didn't know that Johnny Cash covered Hurt. I thought that was his. It may be one of my favorite songs that Cash ever did.

    I wasn't much of a country fan growing up, but I always liked Johnny Cash. Well, and Waylon. And a few others.
