No, I didnt see that. It happened straight across from me but I never even noticed. Between Vince and his chipmunk voice and Tommy Lee begging for girls to flash their boobs..........I missed the fall. I can tell you though........everyone was drunk but me and the wife I think.
There was 4 of us then not drunk last night then counting me and the wife.

As the guy who installed the stadium audio when it was built please remember the band brings in their own equipment and other than emergency announcements ect the sound of the stadium is up to the act touring during the show, terrible round enclosed space to get good sound out of with cement and hard surfaces everywhere.

colts games sound good using the house system. They have had years to tweak it also.

U2 sounded good. Guns and roses was average and that country guy who is friends with Payton sounded good. Most of the other bands sound horrid. Youngest daughter said one direction sounded good but she likes a Sony Bluetooth speaker for high fidelity audio.

Amen! Was that the tour where Tommy spun upside down while jamming on drums? I also thought I remembered Motley Crue playing with Loudness on a Tour. I miss MSA more now than ever.......
I saw the 360 drums in Evansville in 87. Think Cinderella opened for them but may have been for Bon Jovi Slippery when Wet tour. Saw Def Leppard there also. :rockwoot:

Theatre of Pain tour. I saw them at MSA in Sept of 85, but no upside down 360 drums. At that point, they just tilted the riser 90 degrees and let him bang away. I think Y&T opened.

    This is correct.

I would much rather see a concert at Deercreek than indoors any day. Always thought the sound there was very good.
Generally I'd agree with this as well. That said, we recently went to a concert there and while the headliner sounded great, the opening act ( a well established band from the 70's) sounded like complete garbage, so no matter the venue, the equipment they bring in plays a major role.

And the sound check is for the headliner only.

I saw Rush at probably a dozen different venues, and they always sounded good. Ac/dc, though, at market square arena in about 1984-85, was probably the best sounding, and most brutal of all the shows I went to. When they fired the cannons at the end of for those about to rock, it was like a huge flashbang going off in the place, repeatedly! When the lights came up at the end of the show, the whole crowd was just stunned. It was amazing.

I remember that.......they were awesome. Was that when Yngwie Malmsteen opened and threw his guitar in the air and blew the amps?

The next year is when Loudness opened for them....I loved every AC/DC show I ever seen! 100% non stop, high output, in your face energy!

ZZ Top/ Aerosmith was pretty awesome as well. One of my other all time favorites.

I just seen ZZ Top is coming to Indy next week to White River Amphitheatre, is that right? They have some pretty good VIP packages, a lot cheaper than the $3000 Motley Crue VIP packages that sold out. I hate to spend more money on a concert, but man I love ZZ Top!

Yeah, malmsteen opened for them! I saw them a week or so later in Louisville at commonwealth convention center, which is about the size of a medium sized high school gym. Big difference from a few days earlier in Indy! They were still great, and we were about 20 feet from the stage in Louisville, but they had to tone it wayyy down for that little room.

I took my son to his 'gradutation present' concert last night at what is now Ruoff Music Center. Alice in Chains was the headliner and the other bands were Breaking Benjamin, Bush, and Project LIFE. I'd never heard of Project LIFE, and I don't think anyone else had either. They weren't even on the billing, but are apparently a new band that's been out a year or so. Not my cup of tea, but I did enjoy the production that was the guitarists' hair, complete with on stage industrial fans to get it to float just right.

Bush was very good, energetic show and they did a lot of their first album. I would have preferred they had a longer set.

Breaking Benjamin was unintelligible. Lots of small pryotechnics. Neither of us are a fan, but apparently they had a large following there.

Alice in Chains was good, not as high energy as Bush but a solid performance.

Observations: The crowd was largely a circus act. It was a tame crowd, no fights or general ruckus, very little weed smoke, but holy **** was it an unattractive crowd. Highlights include "Pippi NoAssInHerStockings", "Crackhead Gypsy", "Breaking Benches - a One Man Crowd", "Morbidly Obese Harlequinn", "Golfer Dad and Golfer Dad Jr", etc. My son texted me about Crackapotumus (A hefty older woman with broken and missing teeth) thrashing around in front of us: "She's doing the Crackhead Shuffle. In a few more years it'll be the Crackhead Struggle." Hilarious hijinks.

Papaw showed up in light tan head to toe, complete with docker cargo shorts. So did his older Gen X presumptive son. Like they came directly from tending putting greens to the concert. Papaw ****ing loved some Alice in Chains, though, briefly forgetting he couldn't move like that and after 17 seconds decided not throwing out a hip was more important than thrashing about in what he thought was a dance. So...which of you cargo shorts wearing papaws was it? :D

The only band I've seen in the past few years that sounded as good as they did when I saw them in the 70s or 80s is Alice Cooper.

Every other band I've seen recently that was from that era was like watching an elderly tribute band.
I saw .38 Special a year or so back and they sounded very much like them in their heyday despite having only a few original member left...

As far as tribute bans go, everyone needs to make it out to see "Get the Led Out" one day.
If you don't mind a lead singer that looks like Howard Stern... they sound exactly like Led Zeppelin. I mean EXACTLY... Almost like listening to a studio album... not like their horrible live concert videos on youtube.

    Seen them twice. Great shows...

The dream is to see Alan Parsons Project before they retire.
