Yes, the old adage about being careful what you wish for would seemingly apply here for the Dems. Removing Trump from contention likely would clear the path for DeSantis. In which case they get a more polished, less naïve, less reactionary version of Trump to deal with.

I would suspect the same motive that led House demon-crats to look to impeach him twice and continue unrelentingly to smear, attack, and stalk the man. They`re obsessed with him, and they despise him. Trump was truly an "outsider" and there are those in both camps that cannot tolerate an outsider, and certainly not in the Oval Office. We`ve seen the raw vitriol Republican nominated Supreme Court Justices were met with, and dems hate Trump even more than that.

In before the usual suspects come along to tell us we should back someone the progressives are more willing to tolerate in 2024 because; we still lose but have better optics while doing it, or something

On Gettr this morning Bannon is urging Trump to announce 2024 run TODAY. Sure, why wait? Really give the Dems something to chew on.

That said, Lindsey Graham ( don't even get me started on this guy) wants Trump to wait until after the midterm elections so as not to distract voters from the immediate issue of re-capturing the House and Senate.
