Congrats! I don't know if I have ever shot a P10F. I've had the C and S but never the F
Feels good in the hand. Will get it to the range Saturday or SundayCongrats! I don't know if I have ever shot a P10F. I've had the C and S but never the F
In 1979 (edited - got the year wrong.) I was stationed at the Naval Academy in Annapolis. During graduation week, I was patrolling the Severn River while the Angels were performing (F16's at the time I think). We watched an inspection panel fly off one of the planes and land on an athletic field in the Academy. When we retrieved the panel, it was corroded and apparently the corrosion is what allowed it to break away. That was during the Carter administration and, looking back, highlights the neglect that administration gave to our military. In 1982, My President Reagan reversed that course. I can't imagine what the services will look like at the end of this train wreck. Hopefully 2022 and 2024 will change the course we are currently on. Looking forward to better times.
I miss having all the Texans and the flight school at the Huntington Airport.....Used to hangar with this guy. A beautiful T-6 Texan. They raced at Reno but I never went. Those days are long gone. The owner has since passed away and am now at a public airport.

Enjoying ALL the pics, Mr. MM!I'll throw-in a pretty girl .... that usually works well !
RIP - A beautiful lady and a wonderful soul.
Thanks for sharing the pics from the airshow MM. I used to go all the time out west and have done the Reno Air Race twice. I've only been to a half dozen or so since coming to Indy 27 years ago. When the Mt Comfort airshow starts up again in 2023, I'll be there.
Enjoying ALL the pics, Mr. MM!
Oh heck MM I love them. There's been a lull in the CZ'icko posting this afternoon .... so I'll volunteer to jump-in, and fill the void !
The Heritage Flight is always one of my favorite performances of an air show.
Pair-up an old warbird with a modern jet .... play some sappy music ... it works .... it gets me right in the heart, every time !
It doesn't hurt that this year, I'm also very happy with my photograph of the Heritage Flight..... as sometimes I'm not. You only get the chance for a few minutes, and then poof ... it's gone.
(as always, click to make big)
Also, during the static displays on the tarmac, before the performances started, I found this to be a curious (but cool) thing.
These were Air Force enlisted guys .... and not only did they have their Sig M18's on the hip, but they had a locked-n-loaded rifles. They plane that they were underneath, didn't have any barrier around it, as some of the others did.
Maybe they were just there in case of an active shooter ?!?
At least the last photo was gun related !
I hope that nobody minds my air show photos popping-up. Being back at a show, after a 10-year absence, gets me all wound up, and I like to show the photos.
I hope that's OK with you all ?!?
Sorry I was not able to hang out and shoot the breeze with you sir. Spent way to much of the day asleep.Evening all!
I got to swing by and see the Mouse for a second. Always great seeing you, CM! Thanks for the saw, Ive got parts ordered! I'm very excited to have this saw. I'll take good care of it.
I'd have to place the F4U Corsair right up there with them. Navy you know It was cool to see them at Mt Comfort when they had several in attendance one year. (6 I think but can't remember what year.)Oh heck MM I love them.
The P-51D and fast running wing man stirs my heart.
Some say the Brits had the most beautiful fighter ever to fly behind a prop but I totally disagree as there is no more Beautiful plane on the wing than the P-51 D. The spitfire has its place but that place is behind the Mustang.
Especially after the Stang was fitted with the Brit’s bad ass power plant.
