I got no love for her, but she's clearly being used as a pawn, so I have some sympathy. And I'm trying not to let her msrriage, politics, the WBNA pay into my feelings on it. I don't know... 9 years is crazy and the Russians have a long history of kangaroo courts.

But if we give up a merchant of death, then hopefully we get more than just her.

Paul Whelan has been incarcerated way longer than the Biden lover. I say she can wait as long as he has, then we might get him/her/it traded to a league of Russia's choice.

This is somewhat irrelevant, but I have never heard. Why was she in Russia in the first place?

p.s. For those that love to make assumptions; I am not implying that there is anything wrong with traveling to Russia, been there myself. I am simply asking a question regarding how all of this started.

I guess a lot of WNBA players play for Russian teams in the WNBA off-season.

Believe I read somewhere she was playing for some Russian WNBA type team and was in the process of returning back here when caught. Can't find the article at the moment...

To supplement her $200k plus salary, because she can't live on that. Lol!

And its not just Whelan. Marc Fogel got FOURTEEN years for medical MJ. And nobody seems to care about that old, white private school teacher.

Came across this New Yorker article pubished in 2012 about Viktor Boutt. EXCELLENT read. Very entertaining and enlightening. Intriguing info on DEA Special Operations Unit. I was surprised how the DEA rewarded 'Carlos', a major cocaine-trafficker, with $7million USD for the work he did in a previous sting operation that netted a Syrian arms dealer. Pretty lucrative work if you're a highly qualified trafficker.

With US embassy people and US media present she plead guilty. She was getting off a plane from the USA and had over 40 hashish oil units 8 spare vape devices. If it was one vape pen and a couple cartages 9 years is harsh, but she clearly planned to "share the love" with other players. She had 2 boxes full of hashish oil, plus the devices.

Griner said that she was guilty when asked if she would like to give testimony. ABC News was present inside the courtroom during the hearing.

Griner added that she had no "intention" of breaking Russian law, adding that she was is in a rush and did not mean to leave the cartridges in her bag(they were still in the shipping boxes inside the delivery envelopes, which customs opened).

*Another question. How is hashish oil shipped in the USA legally? It is not.

I have no sympathy or concern for sports "stars" getting in drug troubles in foreign countries, or most any one else. Did she not know she was going to RUSSIA? They weren't kidnapped. They knew where they were going. It is their own responsibility to know the risk, rules and laws covering their chosen travels. The country doesn't owe her a thing.

2 boxes?! I thought it was 2 cartridges. Do you have a source for that? (not that I don't believe you)

IIRC she has a MJ card - you know, for her health. WTF does a pro basketball player need weed for health reasons?

    Let's be realistic here.

For some back in the day Walmart Tula 762x39 prices we should definitely trade her, but not for some random guy

Anxiety for having lived in Trump's America?

It looks like at least 4 containers from the security footage:

I'm not a vapor or partaker, so I don't know much about the sizes of the various parts, but I think the cartridges are relatively small?

I posted the video of them opening the package in customs. Given how much censorship is happening I am surprised it even plays. I can not find a single picture of the evidence presented in court though western media was there, including CBS,ABC,and CNN(likely more).
