So last Saturday morning I opened my front door and saw on my sidewalk right in front of me a deceased juvenile possum. It didn't have a mark on it, so the neighbors dogs didn't get ahold of it. I didn't get a picture of it which I should have. I have lived in my house for 21 years and only found two other deceased animals, a squirrel and a goldfinch. It just struck me as odd.

Owl maybe dropped it there. I saw one take a rabbit and drop it in the neighbors yard. One hole in it from a talon. Looked good overall.

I had one of those get down in my gutter downspout!

Found it dead in there one spring when I was trying to figure out what was stopping the water up.

If you look at the studies they did with this tick “Eating” theory it was a very biased study seems they were on the opossum payroll.
I can't say I have ever witnessed an opossum eating a tick, I admit I was regurgitating heresay. I still imagine that theory to be more valid than a secret opossum economy in which they bribe for a good name. I mean, what even is opossum currency? Can't be ticks as they would clearly eat them.

Supposedly it was something like they only dropped ticks into the cage of starving opossum….. so it was out of necessity not a natural occurrence.
