I live in PA and the gas taxes are much higher here than they are in IN. The governor is a Dem and there has been no discussion of lowering the gas tax. Gas is currently pushing $5/gal here, and we can save about 15 cents/gal by driving to Maryland to fill up.

I'm not saying whether the taxes should be lowered or not, just that the idea that it is evil R's that won't lower them is a bunch of partisan nonsense.

I don't think oil futures and gas futures would change all that much just because Indiana drops the tax on it. But sure, local refineries might capitalize. My opposition to dropping the tax is more about fiscal responsibilities. If we drop the tax are we also gonna drop all the work the state pays for with that money? Unless we're willing to drop the work, I'm not ready to say drop the tax. They have to pay for it somehow.
Drop the gas tax but raise taxes elsewhere where it is less visible (and raise them even more)

Like LeadBee says, follow the honey

It would be nice if someone in one of these Congressional interviews would point out the difference between the company actually PRODUCING a product making a product, the parasite SIPHONING off MORE.

Tanks in the ground are low. Pumps slow down so air does not get in the pump.

Anybody else notice a dramatic slowdown in the speed of gas pumps lately?

I've experienced it twice lately at different stations, both times the pumps weren't particularly busy. The first time the guy next to me pumped for several minutes and only managed to get two gallons. He just left. I only managed a gallon and a half before I switched to a different pump and it wasn't much better. Took me 10 minutes to put 13 gallons in my car.

I mentioned this at home the other night and both my wife daughter said, now that you mention it, yeah. It took them both much longer than usual to fill up at different stations around town.

    Just odd.

    These prices are no accident.

I didn’t think I could ever hate someone that I’ve never met as much as I hate that coward.

I feel like I have a right wing equivalent of TDS…except BDS sounds like a urinary infection or a type of STD, so I’ll just say I hate that guy! SO effing much!

I guess gas stations are gonna have to start taking down those "$100 bills not accepted" signs.

Gas stations or any other business don't want $100 bills anymore. They are too easy to counterfeit.

Pat Sullivan was discussing this about his hardware stores recently. The predominance of counterfeiting is supposedly huge.
