Good morning all. Worked all weekend. Client placed an order Friday that was quoted a month ago as a 5-day project. So they send it to me on Friday night, and I guess that's five days production till their Wednesday event. Freakin people.

    .
Them not freaking people them aaaassss.....oo.....eessssss.

2 of the groups that jedi oversees has these issues as well. It takes 2 weeks to get a new ID chip badge for system access. It also take about 1 week to get a new phone line.

Never fails that we have managers stopping by saying their staff iD is going to expire tomorrow and can they get a new one today.

    Aaaaassssss.....ooo....eeeeee....

Same with phones. Managers have know weeks in advance they have a new hire coming and don't tell us till the day they show up for a phone. :faint:

A week for a phone? WTH?
Technically it's up to 30 days per the contract. :faint: and those 30 days don't start counting until after some "board" approves the funding so the phone action. Said board only meets twice a month. So it could be up to 45 days before one gets a phone.

that is sad and almost laughable, no wonder the Goverment gets nothing done.
But wait, the slower it moves the less it get done.
The less it gets done, the less it screws up.
Can you figure out a way to make it take even longer?

Sure... if the inital request is changed the WHOLE process starts over.

Say it was approved for 1 phone with basic features.

But say you realize you also needed voicemail and to be part of a sections call tree. Well those are extra add on charges per the contract. And guess what since the approving board did not approve that funding that is a separate request. So....

Jedi gets yelled at everything jedi skips the process and just gets it done. :faint:

Honestly jedi is tired of this.
jedi has lived around the inefficiency of the system for years. Mainly just doing to work.

It's the getting yelled at, literally, for doing the work now a days that has gotten to jedi.

We got division that can't work because we have stalled on our end and yet we get hampered. Ugh

Ok enough of this. jedi needs to close out payroll before seeing what the weekend contractors did.

Sorry to hear that. My plant had some customers like that. They could never figure out that they forgot to place their orders until late Friday afternoon.

I retired last June. Love getting the outdoor work done during the week. Cut the front, then take a break with some water. Then finish the back. Then you have the weekend free. Awesome!
Once you are retired, weekends have very little meaning... :)

Very much looking forward to that. And the ability to travel to see family more, etc...

Of course, by the time I'm in that position (hopefully by year-end), there may not be any petrol to fill up the car.

FJB and all his cronies. Traitors.
