I have no problem with directed hate. Some cops deserve it. Its the broad brush that gets me. If you hadn't noticed.
I wish you guys could spend your days running speed traps and giving the coal rolling monster truck crowd a good talking to. I don't see that happening anytime in the near future. Never know, four straight elections swinging to the law and order candidates across the board might happen... not in Marion County but it could happen elsewhere.

Thank people like yourself who are always spouting that "ACAB" ********. The numbers of officers are dwindling because of the treatment they get, even when they are right/justified/etc. And with the violent crime rate the way it is in Marion County, it isn't going to get any better. So good luck.
Not totally right. Blame the education system that has been indoctrinating our children for decades and the parents who have never gone to board meeting to voice their concern. This has given us the liberal filth mindset that is taking over our country.

For perspective, if everyone in Marion county called in as much as you do (which you state should not be considered often) there would be 2,893,746 calls over this same time period. No proactivity, no follow ups, no investigations, no traffic stops, no multiple officers on the same call, nothing but everyone getting one call per year for three years.

Assuming 1700 sworn, that's 1702 calls per sworn officer. And that includes all the brass, all the investigators, all the trainers, everyone. Just to handle calls at the rate you make them.

I don't know that I would want to work there. And I'm thankful for the ones that do.

Its plebeian to think one party or another enables crime. They BOTH can not be trusted. Our crime issue is yet another example of the government not serving us, the Taxpayer. Blaming police for inadequacy is like starving a guy and the bitching he is losing weight. Our money and resources quite simply are going to wasteful enterprises that have nothing to do with helping our problems here at home. Our Criminal justice system is broken, our VA is broken, CPS is broken, education is broken, health care out of whack, but hell no worries let’s waste money on rewriting history, force our religious beliefs no matter how hypocritical, rename bathrooms, build more golf courses instead of shooting ranges for the good guys, and starve many other underfunded branches. But hey, Joe Voter falls in love with his favorite politician, and votes him in because hey/she supports turnip farming and everything else can go to hell. When his guy is elected, the benefits of the turnip bill are loaded with 5G legislation and other pork that line the liars pocket. Meanwhile the turnip farmer calls the police and complains they don’t do anything about turnip stealing on his property. Simple, where’s the money for the PD? Oh yeah, the politicians spent it on a new army contract with Bulgaria.

While it is nice that while this has been going on, we have the filthy rich selling penis rides to space, wasting $44B on ego media, and roundabouts to get nowhere faster.

Sonny and Cher…..the beat goes on.

Can’t get one to show up so a law abiding citizen like myself sees little positive action from the law. Sure I called on a barking dog but I also called on an active rolling gunfight too and got told “oh well”
You allegedly got told "oh well" by a dispatcher, not a cop. And barking dog calls aren't high on the priority list. So really cops have nothing to do with your displeasure. You can call the communications center to complain.

Sometimes I watch reruns of Adam-12.
Then I wonder.....What the hell happened to this country. I know it was a fictional TV show made in Hollywood but it was a reflection on life in the USA.
As was Andy Griffith, All in the family,
Sanford and Son and so on and so on.
The Moral decay has moved at such a pace that I'm almost glad I will be gone in 20ish years. I feel for my Son's and Grandchildren who will still be here. I know the old day's weren't perfect but at least we had law and order (mostly)
When I was a kid if you shop lifted some gum or threw a rock threw a window the Police would be talking to you, your parents would be ashamed and punishment would be delivered. You can't blame the beat cop because all he can do is respond and due to the workload cant take a kid home and talk to his parents over a small misdemeanor and take the time to scare him/her straight.
I totaly blame the Democrat Liberal Do anything you want, Hate everything you disagree with, Anti police anti law and order, din do nuffin parents I dont need no Man household welfare as a lifestyle world.
And its never going to get better

Thanks for listening to my rant

Yeah I learned that lesson pretty fast when I moved up here. Forget about nuisance or animal calls or petty crime. Honestly I'm not even that mad, I can read the news and the staffing situation and do the math. Real Mega City 1 vibes, they have to pick the fraction of calls they can respond to and low level stuff just doesn't make the cut.

We had some barking Hound dogs where we used to live . You could literally hear them 1/2 mile away .
Owners did nothing ......................So I got one of these . The can runs out pretty quick , but it is quite effective when hooked up to a compressed airline . Blast until the compressor runs out if you like .........
The neighbors caught on eventually .......and if someone calls the cops about a loud horn ( and they show up ) address the dog issue .
May help to get some audio recordings to have on hand , just in case .

Can`t help much with the drive bys .................except get out of Marion County .

I’ve knocked on the door and had words many times. These particular people don’t care , they are the type of people that would be of real interest to law enforcement as I’m 99% convinced that they are involved in actual criminal enterprise as a career.

If you can legitimately get away with anything up to murder or rape, I'm not saying to have words.

I'm saying if that statement is true, there's a lot of potential things you could do that would be illegal but would solve the problem.

1st off this isn’t a commentary on the police themselves, ik ive a bit of reputation for not being their biggest fan round these parts. More of a commentary on the current political and social climate of living in the big city.

Lived in Marion county for 3 years now, called into dispatch via 911 or 311 a total of I think 3 times now.

1st time several years ago I watched a literal shootout between road raging cars, dispatcher asks if I got license plates and when I said no they pretty much said “what do you want me to do about it” , idk see if you have any cops close by and send them ?

One call into 911 was for trespassing, had to do with contractors working behind my house insisting they could drag men and equipment across my yard. They weren’t working on my yard or but hey it was the easiest way for them because of fences where they were working. After about a 45 minute standoff dispatch calls back and asks if the problem is still going on.

Latest one is calling on a neighbors barking dog. Dog is left out for hours late into the night all the time. Call into 311 after 10 pm for a noise complaint and the dispatcher asks me if I want the number to the mayors action line. No I don’t want the number, I want you to send someone to shut this sh** down because 10pm is the cutoff for noise complaints. I relayed that this wasn’t a one off thing, long and short of it dispatcher literally hung up on me.

So if inside of Marion county your on your own, the law only exists the come and do reports after the fact- CMV
You sound like a lot of fun. I bet you get invited to lots of parties.

Ffs dude chill. I've lived in Marion county since 09 I've called the police less than you.

I'm with dispatch, what di you want the cops to do about a road rage situation that will be dissolved or long gone by the time anyone shows up? What are the cops going to do about a barking dog? Also dogs bark that's what they do. Trespassing maybe is worth a call to the none emergency line.

Maybe dont be so high strung.
Or move way out to the country where you won't have so many triggering events.

Wanting the dispatchers to send cops to enforce the laws and ordinances of the land makes me high strung?
I’m sorry what do we pay them for then?

You sound a little triggered……are you my neighbor?

Dude, you moved to Brightwood, one of the WORST neighborhoods in Indy. Did you expect anything different? Did you do no research before deciding where to live?
