I want to get a shooting mat so that I can work on my skills from the ground. Areas where I plan to use it have mostly concrete or gravel surfaces. If there is a particular model or style that you really like or dislike, I would appreciate hearing your thoughts.

    Thanks

Creedmoor waterproof. NOT a "TopGrip" version unless you only want to wear long sleeves.

Fold up is nicer, but takes more space. IF you get the roll up, fild back the FRONT 1/3 elbow portion onto the middle of the mat, and THEN roll. It will come out a lot more able to lie flat again.

There are even nicer than Creedmoor, but not by much.

I have several of them from Midway and, while I don't have experience with other mats, I have no complaints. I have two of the pro models and one that is a bit smaller (and older). The Pro models are nice and wide, plus they have plenty of padding to protect my girly elbows. They do what I want and when they're on sale they don't break the bank at all.

Love my US Peacekeepers drag bag/mat but I dont think they make them. Try ebay?

I'm sure you can order one from Optics Planet.*

*Dont do that. They advertise what they THINK they can get and will take/hold your money until you call to ask where your product is.

Back in the day every Highpower shooter had a Freelands mat.

I've got a Midway Pro mat too. It's thicker and would be suitable for a smooth gravel driveway.
Dang, John. I didn't even remember those. Good call.

What does that gray rubber do if it gets wet? Slippery?

I had the special-order white rubber on my first Thneedmoor, and it was slickernsh** in the rain.

Same rubber material on the elbow of your coat, so yes, slippery as snot.
