Im thinking about selling a 1910-1912ish s era 30"-barreled (full choke) standard 12ga takedown model. It is an "E" series / final change gun. Essentially zero bluing left, but a nice patina. I suppose there may be some thin bluing left on the barrel and tube...

I plan on having it function checked *soon*, but getting to that side of town isn't the easiest.

Anyhow - what are they going for in your AO?

Ive rec'd 1 general pricing opinion from another INGOer who is somewhat familiar with old gals like this. I believe him - but am curious as to what others may think.

I’d concur with the 400 to 600 estimate for my area as well. Aww good ole 97 Win. Have one that’s been in my Family since 1903. I actually learned how not to have your finger on the trigger when it doesn’t have a sear and the action slams shut with that 97 when I was about 13.

Rabbit hunting and shot at one worked the slide and boom worked the slide and boom (yea that was 3 shots and by this time recoil it was straight up in the air then I realized what my Dad didn’t tell me “might want to take my finger off the trigger”

And yes I bagged the rabbit

Thanks, you two! This is generally in line with what i was previously told.

Ive also kicked around the idea of restoring it...

And kicked around the idea of having it converted to a trench gun. But that'll be 2x the value of the gun!

I tried to get it apart this AM for some lovin' & lubin' work.

Couldn't get the mag tube to budge one bit.

Eons ago, i needed "professional help" to get the TD mech put back in place. (Not touched it since). Im hoping that guy (former INGOer - hasn't been on in eons) didnt break something.

When i have a chance, I'll try some penetrating oil on the receiver side of the thing and see if that helps.

Prob should remove the stock first - just in case.

As far as refinishing... Suppose a lot comes down to how much I want to spend and how well I want it done. Home job vs professional and all that.

I just popped on another one that needs TLC. It will be at least the end of the week before I can get to it. It will need everything yours will need and I will take pics for you to see what can be done at home with a modicum of effort.

I got this one (a 'D' series) just because it has a modified choke...
