I`m really fed up and tired of opposition to this by law enforcement. We don`t need the approval of law enforcement any more than we need the ok from government to freely exercise our rights.

It is my understanding that the reason law enforcement opposes this is simple, and a simple fix.
If L.E. pulls you over and you have a LTCH, they can access that information.
For whatever reason, bit seems they can NOT access information on felons.
A felony conviction, which disqualifies an individual, is not accessible information to L.E., so they have no way to confirm who should NOT be carrying a firearm.

Give L.E. access to felony conviction records so they know at the point of stop that they know who is NOT legal...

    Then drop the license requirements.
    Problem solved.

That's sorta true and sorta not true. Without getting deep into the weeds, we can get felony convictions but it's significantly more time consuming and resource intensive, especially if they aren't local. There's no real central repository for convictions, since each county/state keeps their own. You end up having to query a central database, the database tells you which states have records, then you query that state for that record. A III combines some steps, but is also time consuming and not everyone can request them (although each department should have at least one someone that you can request request it for you, it's a different level of access that requires a longer training course to access it directly)

Given that the Pinner decision doesn't allow them to detain or ask you about carrying, that argument holds about as much water as a screen door in a submarine.

So many people opposed to the United States Constitution and our Second Amendment rights. We sould NOT need a government permission slip to bear arms, and anyone opposed to constitutional carry is not my friend.

    Where's the bacon?
I'd guess Holcomb will veto. He lacks testicular fortitude and has nothing to lose as a lame duck Gov. My crystal ball is less clear regarding the override vote.
Let us not snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

I'm not saying we should consider this "in the bag" by a long shot, but it would be 'unusual" for him to do so, esp since the legislature can override his veto with a simple 50% + 1 vote, and we have supermajorities in both houses. My greater concern is Rod Bray, the Pres. Pro Tem of the Senate.... Rumor had it he killed it last year. Perhaps he got enough pi**ed off voters to change his tune this year.

    That's my hope, anyway.

    Blessings,
    Bill

Completely possible he'll sign if only to preserve his stature within the state. Rumor has it he's looking to transition to fed senate/congress. He's just so damn slippery. I thought I heard Guy R. state that last year the bill died in committee thus hiding who voted how. Fingers crossed for your optimism to supersede my pessimism.

You did hear last year that a decision was made in caucus conference who would vote how, and that information was not made public. So I’ve chosen to lay ALL of the fault on chairwoman Brown and pres pro tem Bray. If they want to hide it, they can take the blame themselves. And I would love to see Bray primaried, if anyone lives in his district that could oppose and boot him.

Try to speed up the process of getting a permit? No thank you, and keep telling yourself that the current process of law-abiding Hoosiers having to beg permission from the state to bear arms is "constitutional"...
