Wow. Just when you think New Jersey can't get even worse, it does... :toilet2: I hope this doesn't pass, but we all know it probably will. :wallbash:

If your take is that the Ammoland article is salacious in its interpretation of the bill, I'd agree. If your thought is that bills like this are benign, warranted or effective, well...
I just cannot fathom having my 'bump in the night' pistol stored separate from my 'bump in the night' ammo. The bill clearly says this would be required unless, of course, I were wearing the said pistol and ammo on my person while I sleep. And then there is the whole enforcement issue, "Sir, did you in fact retrieve your pistol and ammo from separate locked boxes prior to exterminating the man who crawled through your window, wearing a ski mask, while out on zero dollar bail for a previous felony?"

My take is that we should read the bill rather than reacting solely to any single report.

For instance, I am quite concerned by "repeals law governing minor's access to firearm" but I haven't read those bills (or parts) mentioned specifically. The ammoland article doesn't even mention the giving minor access - my suspicion is that this is being input now motivated in part by MI and WI being in the news regarding minors and firearms.

I just cannot fathom having my 'bump in the night' pistol stored separate from my 'bump in the night' ammo. The bill clearly says this would be required unless, of course, I were wearing the said pistol and ammo on my person while I sleep. I agree with your concern and generally believe that it's not the gov's business what we do in our own homes.

Just returned home from having a tooth pulled. It was easier than discussing firearms rights to other college/school folks when I was in NJ.

Unfortunately, New Jersey is a lost cause. Has to be something in the air or water out there. Sad but true.
NJ is a lost cause. No amount of effort to counter what these Anti 2A matters. I gave up and moved out of NJ years and years ago leaving behind a great career, house, friends and family. I could not take it anymore; NJ is an ongoing disaster. How sad indeed...
