I hadn't seen this discussed anywhere, since we are a discussion forum I thought I'd throw this out there.

HENDRICKS COUNTY, Ind. – A Hendricks County teen is facing felony charges for possession of a machine gun and is believed to be connected to nearly a dozen shootings around Indianapolis.

After raiding the suspect’s home on east County Road 400 south in Clayton, southwest district officers searched his parent’s home on Bertha street in late October.

Officers seized a table full of guns including six handguns, an AR-15, four long guns, two drum magazines and a 3d printed drop-in which converts guns into fully automatic weapons.

"Drop-in". This isn't upgrading your RAM, it's a little more complicated.

OK, four long guns with wood furniture. A Henry lever gun, I think the far left is a Remington Model 58, on the right is a tube-fed .22 and what I'm thinking is another Remington semi-auto shotgun.

One pistol-length AR with ONE PMag.

    One nickel Model 36 S&W

    One S&W Shield

    I'm thinking two Glock 17 Gen 3s

    Two Glock 19 Gen 5's

The drum mags are for a Glock

“He’s a person of interest in at least a dozen shots fired incidents, including shots fired into a residence and at least one person shot,” said Foley.

It sounds like a bad guy from a bad family was taken off the street. That is a good thing. It seems like the story is missing the mark with MACHINE GUNS!! :runaway: :runaway::runaway:

I had to laugh at the last two lines of the article.

“If we get them off the street they’re not going to be involved in violent crimes and the potential for retaliation diminishes because they’re off the street,” said Foley.

Phillips was released from the Hendricks County jail last week on a work release pending trial.

So it is a real thing? Is @Kirk Freeman into 3D printing? He could look it up and say it was research for a client ;)
Everyone with that file is on a list. The atf was tracking "bottle opener" orders and making arrests. This was a big thing in 2019/18. And yes it's real and no don't do it. There used to be videos on social media, but I haven't seen any posted in a very long time.

I saw on a news program you could order a part from China that would turn a glock into a full auto. It was a big thing in Chicago. Combined with a drum mag thats a hell of alot of firepower.
BTW Don't do that. Its illegal

Yes, this stuck in my craw, too.

Yep, we are so safe now that the tools are off the street, but the guy using the tools, who seems to be connected to lots of shootings around Indy is back on the street and quite capable of getting more weapons and committing more shootings before his trial.

Yes, the jail is a much safer place with this guy back on "the street".

What a plastic drop in that turns firearms full auto?

I don't believe that. Proof please.

It's quite simple and the knowledge should be freely available to anyone as the first amendment protects it.

All you need is a piece of material that rests against the disconnector. You need it to contact the bolt carrier tail piece precisely when it closes into battery, which will cause the disconnector to be depressed, discharging the rifle until you release the trigger. Remove the upper from your rifle and close the bolt into battery, notice there is a circular cut where a full-auto cut carrier protrudes from in front of the rear take down pin, that is the surface which interacts with this part.

Yes it's that simple. Yes you can make it from almost anything.

Gun laws are ridiculous and stupid. They might as well ban sheet metal, coat hangars, random bits of plastic, tooth picks, wood, or any material harder than american cheese. Because that's what'd be necessary to prevent the creation of this part.

I think there's legitimately CHEESES hard enough to make this part work for a few shots.

In fact I can even think of some ways this could happen unintentionally to someone, although unlikely.
This should not be illegal. The fact it is shows just how predatory the federal government is.

One of the test files for one of my 3D printers is just a 20x20x15mm cube that's mostly a bunch of empty hexagons internally. You can drive a car over it. It would surprise you how rigid these things can be.

Odds are he’ll start working on a new cache, so the State can revoke his bond and possibly file additional charges.

The media wants so badly to push the narrative all 2a supporters have machine guns and barrels of 'ghost bullets,' so they wind up posting pictures of grandpa's lever guns and shotguns on a crappy dining room table.
    I'm embarrassed for them.

Would you have to have the part in the firearm for it to be illegal? Not selective fire like an M16 but basically on-off?

G17 is very manageable, with semi-automatic fire. Full-auto I gotta think, that's a handful and about shot #5 you are pointing at the sky.
