If you’ve chosen not to take a Covid vaccine for whatever reason(s), it may be wise to reassess occasionally.

I’ve said through much of this pandemic that Covid was almost an abstraction to me because I never really knew anybody who got seriously ill with it. That’s all changed. I’m watching a very dear friend of ours go through it right now, and it doesn’t look good. He seems to have gotten progressively worse and they’re transferring him to a different hospital with ECMO. This is something that’s only used in the most serious cases:

I’ve seen a couple of pictures of him before his recent turn for the worse and they are terrifying. He’s a friend of ours through racing, but I doubt he’d be known to anyone here. He’s younger than I am, reasonably fit, fun-loving, kind, generous, has a family… and it doesn’t look good.

I know I’m far from the only person here that’s watched this happen, but I can’t imagine any potential risks of a vaccine outweighing what I’m seeing happen right now. I’m not advising anyone what to do, but I’m saying if you haven’t seen this happen, this thing is far from over and it’s no joke. It can still happen to any of us, any of our loved ones, our friends. I hope those who have made firm decisions stop to reassess occasionally. I don’t want to see anyone go through this, stranger or someone that I love and care about. And if you’re inclined to pray for a stranger, our friend could really use it right now.

I’m really sorry to hear about your friend.

I’ve been on the fence since the vaccines came out, but have been adamant about not getting it since **** face Joe started barking about ‘losing his patience’.

I’m probably one of the most regularly ‘exposed’ people in the city, having lived with an EM doc through the entirety of the pandemic. I miraculously haven’t had so much as the sniffles since before this mess, thankfully.

I think at this point I’m unlikely to get the jab, but I’ll heed your advice and take your friends experience into consideration. Lucky for me I guess, but nobody is counting on me to take care of them (no kids and relationship in shambles) and my nearest family is 1000 miles away in Boston.

I hope things get better with your friend and that his family has support from others like yourself. Take care sir, and I hope everyone reading this stays safe this holiday season and beyond.

    Very sorry to hear.

I am curious. Do you know if your friend was vaccinated?

Sorry to hear about your friend. It isn't always the old and fatties that COVID decides to take down.

Good news is survival seems better with ECMO recently than originally. Praying for your friend.

Also, those of you who do get COVID and have risk factors, go get the monoclonal antibody infusion. It is freaking awesome. You can even get the infusion if vaccinated. Felt so much better the next day. The sooner you get, the better.

OK I have been debating on if I should post this up in the forum and this made up my mind.

I have a group of friends that live in Black Forrest Colorado. I met them through my adventures and journeys through racing at a professional level. We were all part of maybe 6 runs at the 500 and successful in all of them. Low buck may only efforts.
The 2 brothers have a shop and turn out some amazing pieces that have set and currently hold records at pikes peak and they owned a series that ran for several years running older Indy cars. I have some wonderful memories with them.

OK.....I learned yesterday that the younger brother passed away in the ICU from Covid. His wife, brother and my friend that lives on the property and works with them in the shop all contracted it as well. The brother is struggling but the wife and my friend are holding their own. Now here is the kicker.....they were all fully vaxxed. All 4 of them. So we are having a WTAF is going on moment.

Today we learn 2 family members (a niece and a nephew) from different homes have the covid and yes, they are fully Vaxxed. So again.....WTAF is going on here.

My heart is very heavy right now and no mood to go off on a rant so take from this what you will.

We live in a society full of lies and deceit all the way to the top of the food chain.

    Mouse is out.

Edit.....Yes we are sending our prayers up for your friend and all who are in pain from this.

Sadly there seems to be very little objective information available from lame stream media.

Historically a vaccine would be defined as something that prevented a disease, which appears to be no longer the case.

Hard to trust someone that appears to have integrity issues and with regards to gain of function research.

Sorry to hear about your friend. I genuinely hope he takes a turn for the better.

The line I quoted is packed full of buckshot, though. I'm not sure I should get into it in this thread.

    Prayers for your friend.
The line you quoted is how I personally feel. I’m not advising anyone what to do. I’m just being honest about my own feelings.

It’s not so much about preventing the disease entirely as it is about reducing its severity.

We definitely need a vaccine for this sickness. What fauci is selling is not what it needs to be.
When the polio vaccine was released and someone died. they stopped it completely and went back to the lab and got it right. Only a few people I grew up with had the polio legs, after the med people got the vaccine worked out, that disease was pretty much eliminated.

fauci's shot has proven ineffective, and killed thousands, and injured 100's of thousands, many are injured permanently. And both the people who had little problem and he people who were injured continue to get covid, and die from it. The damned product is NO good, and the little madman should be stripped of all power and influence until he can be tried and hung.

Here were are a year and some months later and there has been no suspension of the program, in fact they want it pumped into children. They have not revised anything, they have not done anything to make it safe. Nothing to even make it effective.

All fauci and his population control computer salesmen have done is make sure there is 24/7 propaganda selling people to risk it all for a lie. The emperor's new clothes don' exist.

I want a real shot for covid, and I want real Doctors to practice medicine, not blindly follow protocols written by the same cdc people that made the mess.

Driving to work is a calculated risk. Not taking the only vaccines we have is a calculated risk. Everyone should be free to make these calculations on their own. Never ever would I say the jab should be mandatory. Never ever would I support that. All I know is, right now I’m wishing my friend had done it. He couldn’t be any worse off. I’m watching him die an awful death. It will be a divine miracle if he pulls through at this point.
