These threads always get sporty and are a good time.

List your brands of those AR manufacturers that are literally good enough to "go to war" with.

PSA / Anderson need not apply.

Not an exhaustive list, but I'll start:

    SOLGW
    BCM
    Centurion
    LMT
    Hodge
    KAC
    Noveske
    White Label Armory
    FN
Colt (some of them...apparently they've been trading on their name for eons YMMV)
Potential honorable mention to Daniel Defense

Everybody wants to play operator, until its time to operate; accordingly, I suspect there will be plenty of "Tier I" ARs laying on the ground if the balloon actually ever goes up.

Any AR that 1. is appropriately gassed, 2. has good magazines, 3. has important bits that can work loose staked, and 4. has a quality bolt with spare would likely be plenty reliable. You can pay for those things, or do/test them yourself if halfway competent...most would probably manifest themselves within the first few hundred practice rounds anyway.

Because you practice with your "going to war" rifle....right?

    In the country, hopefully.
    BCM guy here.
    All BCM except one Stag.
But I have an honest question (you said you wanted it sporty) excepting for barrel quality/wear, what is really wrong with the psa/Anderson? If it’s in spec, it’s in spec. I don’t see anything thicker or stronger anywhere. Maybe the gas system needs some work, but that can be done.
    Seriously, what’s wrong with these?

All my ARs have been what the Tactically inclined would say were sub par...S&W Rock River and yes 1 Anderson. I have fired thousands of rounds when ammo was cheap almost abusing mag dumps just for fun.Never had one fail. For the average guy thats not a Operator is a 3k AR that much better that a 1k AR
I'm not trying to hijack the thread
Just sayin....I do like Rock River.

We got to war with Colt and FN M4's so the bar is already not that high, no you don't need a 3K AR, i'd be happy with a 1500.00 DI LWRC though!

I was wondering what the verdict was on White Label... I've looked at some of their components and wasn't sure if they were good quality or not

My Aero will work just fine. Heck, my PSA or M&P Sport II will probably work just fine. Especially since I needn't worry about such silliness. There will be plenty of $3000 ARs scattered around that used to belong to donut operators who dropped them after running 10 yards and getting winded. Plenty of actual operators put in the ground by illiterate goat humpers with 75 year old Mosins. Other considerations may outweigh the name stamped on your lower.

This is the rifle I want.
The one I've trained with. The one that has plenty of D.O.P.E.
The one that has seen the heat & cold, dirt, sand & rock, water (gas, liquid and solid), wind and all kinds of s**** mags & ammo.

Repeat after me: "This is my rifle..."

Every builder can turn out a turd (even really shiny $$$ ones), and no-one knows what they've actually got until put it through its paces. That needs to include targets beyond point-blank range (>300y for most centerfire rifles - >100y for AKs). Practice using ALL of the skills in your toolbox.

Even among the well-regulated there's a high probability that the meaty part is the limiting component, especially when the conditions aren't nearly ideal.

DynCorp gave me a Bushmaster XM-2. I used a Colt in my police action. My current patrol rifle is a S&W M&P Tactical.
