Gee, how did I know this would be blamed on Covid?

It's like Homer Simpson said about beer. "The cause of, and the solution to every problem."

Just got a notice I should have my Federal refund by the 10th of this month. Filed electronic return on April 2nd and it was four months ago on August 2nd. Had to pay the great state of Indiana and they cashed the check within two weeks

Like other person in the thread I filed in March and I am still waiting to get my money back on the interest free loan I provided to the government.

Still waiting, filed late April. IRS online tracker doesn't help, phone tracker doesn't help, can't ever reach a live person even at local branches. Found someone online that listed steps to reach a live person. Followed the steps and seemed to be working until the very last step, where it said they have too many calls and won't be able to answer mine, then hangs up.

Still waiting. Got state refund quickly but no refund from federal (which also includes the last covid payment so it would be nice to get that). Plan to skip my last two estimated tax payments this year to make sure I owe them so this can’t happen again. A few bucks in penalties instead of allowing an interest free loan to the government for who knows how long!

Did everyone who is still waiting file on paper? I am usually done early but waited a bit on mine and still got my refund in a timely manner after doing an e-file. Same for my son.

That has got to be it. Electronic filings are just cross checked by a human as I understand it. So far less human effort required. (SOMEBODY has to enter that data into the computers. If it isnt you, its some poor group of covid affected workers thats gotta do it, so expect it to take longer. )

Nope, filed electronically in March. Received feds in about 3 weeks, still don’t have state.
