I left the Bail business and went to work for the LaPorte County Sheriff's Department as a Deputy in the Jail.
I then got my back destroyed while on duty so... Been laying low since the failed surgery to fix it.

The funniest part of being a resident of Michigan City Indiana is the look on peoples face who live in neighboring towns when you say you live there...
They all get this "Oh you do" look about them and then tell a story of some horrible thing about the city they have heard.
Our city has a well earned reputation for being bad.
How do you take a Beautiful and what should be valuable piece of lakefront property and turn it into Michigan City ???

Yes, worse for the ghetto. The ghetto areas of Indy might as well be Michigan City to me. Completely irrelavant to my area of Indy, which I would bet is several times safer than Michigan City. You can't really directly compare a little city of 31,000 people or so with a major metropolitan area.

Another "It's my right" ambassador of good will. I live 2 miles from there and avoid it like the plague. Always a freak show in there, and they want to see my receipt on the way out lol. I gladly drive to Meijer as an alternative.

I think we are in a bubble here in Valpo. surrounded by increasing cancer, may have to pull up steaks some day.

I'm kind of lost on what your point is. The data said MC was worse than Gary, albeit very close.

As for a cops opinion, I am not sure how a cop could have an opinion of how bad their city is compared to another one. Since 96% of the cities in the country have less crime per capita than MC, his opinion of MC seems spot on though.

Yes. I live about 3 miles from the Wal Mart at issue.

It's mainly the Kouts and south contingent that add the....flavor... to this particular store rather that the north of 30 crowd far to the west.

Wow, being from the South of Kouts, I now know what it feels like to be from the wrong side of the tracks.
