Kind of edging in this direction one day. For some reason I find I want a real P225 (from when they were clean, simple and metal and not a1) so it's been added to the (bottom of the) shopping list
P225 is my favorite Sig, I carried one for years in a Kramer holster, great combo. 225's are always on my list but they're approaching 1K for nice ones, too much to spend for something I just want but don't have a particular need for.

Wow, I am glad I bought one a few years ago. Pretty nice, got the box. I don't think I shot it after getting it.

You used to be able to get them cheap, they were the P's nobody wanted until Sig discontinued them, then like everything else people realized they were a pretty good gun and the prices started to go up.

This past year, I started looking for another CCO sized 1911. Commander slide on an officer frame my favorite 1911 configuration. I've had a couple in the past but always found a reason to sell them or trade them for the latest and greatest plastic pistol. Or CZs but that's another story. So I started getting the itch for steel and wood in compact 1911 .45 goodness and the search began where it ended last time, but I never bought one. With the Dan Wesson PM-C. Well come to find out they have discontinued that model. So my search went elsewhere but for the life of me I could only find CCO 1911s in 9mm. Or if they were 45 they were alloy frames. I wanted STEEL and I didn't want 9mm in my 1911s thank you. So I briefly considered a custom Ed Brown or the like but man 3k was a chunk of change and for something I was planning on for EDC that was to much. Anyway one day perusing Gun Broker low and behold guess what I find. DW PM-C. So I messaged the seller as I have 0 feedback on GB and asked if he was willing to deal with an unrated buyer and he was so I placed my bid. Long story after a bidding war and going over my budget I still lost. Oh well. A few weeks later I find almost half a dozen PM-Cs on GB. I even found one NIB from a dealer in Texas on a penny auction! Well this I won and stayed on budget! In fact I got it for below MSRP after tax and transfer. Took it out today and put some rounds through it and it ran beautifully. I'm not used to the sights. I'm not a fan of the fiber optic. Might have those replaced. But for now just need a good holster and some more officer mags that I swore I still had but can't find. And she'll be my new EDC. Man I've missed the 1911! Just feels like going back home. Anyone else make the switch back to the 1911 recently?

I owned a few different 1911s in past. Colts, Springfield Arms, Auto Ordanance, Kimbers, currently own a Rock Island Arms, basically a range gun, and favors the appearance of a WW2 model.
It does fire ball and JHP rounds, all kinds of mags work decent, seems like the 7 rounders run best.
Wilson 47D is a carry mag with 230 gr JHP(i think they are Gold Dots). 70 series action also.

If I were to add one more, Id go Kimber Tactical model, has all whistles and bells, and is around $900-1000. I do carry an aged G19, and a Sig226, and no regrets.
    Good luck in your choices.

I had a P6 years ago that I let go for a song. There wasn’t a darn thing wrong with it but I got hung up on the capacity. I thought that it was too big for a single stack 9mm. Idiocy visits me on occasion.

When I do carry a 1911, it’s a DW A2 Commander. What a simple, honest 1911. Other than a set of Trijicon HDs and grips, not a thing needed done. It’s the tightest fit 1911 I own. It’s only got about 1300 rounds through it but it has never had a single issue whether using the factory mags or my trusty Wilson Combats. I don’t carry it often any more and almost never away from the house but I have every confidence in that gun.

Dress 'em up a bit ..... make them special to you !
It helps if Churchmouse puts some mouse-love inside.
After that, the grips are the easiest thing to personalize....I chose ancient mammoth tusk !

Sadly, we all suffer from that on occasion!
I often wished I had picked up a P-225, when they were a lot less expensive!

I almost transitioned back yesterday. I was bored and there was a Dunhams where I am at so I stopped in. They had a good deal on a Kimber.

But then I remembered I like sleeping in my bed, so I passed on it to keep the wife happy. LOL

    That is a handsome tool.

This was the EDC for a long time:

It sits in the safe waiting for a trip out to play.

    This is the current carry:

Same .45ACP, a lot less weight.

I always wanted stainless and polished 1911. However, after seeing the Ronin I fell in love just with pictures and videos online. Then I seen this handled it, and it was coming home even if it wasn't a 10mm.
I understand .... and I bet that you'll find a way to make the 10mm dream come true also !

Oh definitely they need to sit together. If I get them both I'm thinking of building a display case out of butternut, walnut or cherry. Depending on what lumber I have on hand right now I have quite a bit of butternut on hand some call it White walnut.
