It should be a felony to burn the American flag !

EXCLUSIVE - BMX Freestyle rider Chelsea Wolfe, who qualified as an alternate to represent the U.S. at this year's summer Olympics in Tokyo, said last year that her goal was to win an Olympic medal "so I can burn a US flag on the podium." "My goal is to win the Olympics so I can burn a US flag on the podium.2 hours ago

It shouldn't be a felony to burn a flag, unless you're destroying someone else's property after you stole it.

You want people to not burn the flag because they respect the flag.
Not because they fear a felony charge.

Having so much freedom that you can burn your own flag is awesome. :patriot:

So you're guessing these idiots actually pay for a flag for the privilege of burning it? Prolly not. I'm way past felony. You live here and enjoy the freedom our troops defend we should take a page from the French and guillotine the bastards.

I think they actually buy flags in order to burn them.
People who do that are cowards, they're not going to steal a flag for someone's yard.
They know that could get them a good beating, and/or an arrest.
Or they could even legally get shot in most states.

Not that I know for sure, I've never burned or stole a flag.

Burning a flag (that you own) is covered under the first amendment, it's freedom of speech.

That's actually a beautiful thing (the level of freedom, not the flag burning itself).
The fact that protesters on US soil can stand in the middle of the a street, in front of cops, while burning an American flag and spewing hate towards their own country ... all that without fear of being arrested.

It's actually ironic since they couldn't do that in China, or Russia (burning the national flag there) or any other country that they claim are better than the US.

I have no respect for people who burn US flags obviously, especially American citizens who do that.

It's a bit different with brainwashed foreigners doing that. They usually don't know any better.

They don’t respect the flag or the country but they want the freedom that comes with it !
    I call BS .

That's the irony, that's why we can laugh at those idiots.

People have rights in this (your) country, even when you feel that they don't deserve those rights.

Like murderers and rapists who have the right to get a lawyer and a fair trial.

Those very people fought and died to protect everyone's rights, including those with whom they disagreed. It's part of the 1st Amendment rights that are protected by our constitution. You don't get to silence the expression of those opinions that you disagree with. That would make us like North Korea or China, or Russia.

    Forced patriotism isn’t patriotism.
Agreed but lets think about this option. If you truly want to make a statement and burn my/our/your flag OK then. But you have to get a large one. Wrap yourself in it and light her ablaze and you go down in you worthless idiotic statement.

Also any ass beatings the ensue from your actions should be OK and get a pass from any LEO involvement.
I take this very personally. We have all known a wounded warrior. We all know of or have lost someone close and dear to us under this flag.

Do this in front of me. {Please. Man/woman/snowflake it matters not as you will be bleeding.
Think or say as you will. Just know this to be the truth.

I have said for decades, that burning the flag is not speech as defined by the Constitution and should be considered an act of violence.
What if you tried to use this excuse for trying to burn down a police station because you're part of the defund the police movement?

I'd think you'd get told to go pound sand, you're getting three hots and a cot for a while.
