I recently picked up a slightly used Glock 48 9mm pistol and I finally got to shoot it this past weekend!
I actually like it...it's accurate, the grip is more than comfortable in my (somewhat) smaller hands, and the 10+1 magazines are sufficient for what I need!
Thoughts from others who have one... like... dislike... anything you would like to see improved on it, etc

I have shot a few Glock 48's. I like the 48 more than the 43X. Contemplated getting one for those vistis to mag restrictive states.

I have a 43X and like the feel, although I haven’t been able to shoot it as much as I’d like to. To me it feels like hideout/backup gun, but that hasn’t kept me from carrying it because it’s so darned comfortable to carry. I’d like to shoot a 48 to see the difference; and I could be half tempted to change up to a 48 with Shield mags for EDC.

I like the 48 as I think that is a nice compromise of size and capacity, small handguns are challenging to shoot well but I find the 48 small enough for carry but big enough to shoot well.

We were out at 150 yards shooting it last week and I didn't really notice it being any more difficult to hit steel than with my 17.
4" barreled Glock 48 vs 4.5" barreled Glock 17...probably not too much difference once you got the sight pattern down.
I was contemplating between the 43X and the 48, as it was the smaller grip that got my attention, and the shop I went to had a NIB 43X and a very 'slightly' used 48 (couldn't even tell it was fired by looking at the top of the chamber where it usually shows wear from rubbing under the slide) priced $150 less than the new 43X...it was the price that made up my mind for me!

The Glock 48 came with an IWB Kydex holster, but I prefer OWB Leather...
Who carries which, and what, if any, recommendations for Leather OWB holsters does anyone have?

I live in a CC only state that doesn’t allow printing and the 48 has been perfect for me. I have average sized hands and the 1.5 stack profile with Talon grips gives me a great purchase in a relatively slim profile. I was previously carrying a 43 so I also have the option of swapping the slides for a 43X if I want. The only changes I’ve made were Talon grips and night sights.

As far as holsters, I’m a fan of Crossbreed for IWB. For OWB, Wright Leatherworks was a favorite of mine. They’re a little pricey but worth it IMO.

Wanted to like it - but didn't. Seemed like the perfect CCW GLOCK, but it didn't like my reloads, and something about the backstrap was uncomfortable.

    A state that doesn't allow 'printing' of a firearm...dude, that's crazy!
Thanks for the heads-up on the holster options...I considered the Wright Leatherworks...but haven't decided!
Indiana is a state that doesn't require one to carry concealed (aka, our license allows for open carry) although I do, for the most part, carry concealed. However, I do, on occasion, see individuals who carry open! Very different animal, that's for sure!
I prefer not to open carry, but only because I don't wish to allow others to see what I have, so I don't display it...
Others can do as they wish!

I think the single-stack 9mm's are better geared towards those with slightly smaller than average sized hands.
I've had friends, who have rather large hands, who say they don't like the 43X or the 48 at all...
whereas I find it almost 'perfect' for my hand size.
It does have a touch more aggressive beavertail, as well, which actually dips down just a tad,
but I find it's actually more comfortable whereas others have said they don't like it much.

I moved from Indiana to Florida when I was 28 and definitely miss their carry and permit laws. I usually carried concealed there as well but I liked having the option, especially in the winter months.

The printing issue is a bit of a mess in Florida. It isn’t technically illegal but there have been numerous cases of individuals being arrested by officers who misinterpret the law and consider printing to be exposure of the gun. It’s a more common occurrence in Palm Beach, Broward, and Dade counties which are heavily populated by transplants from the northeast. Unfortunately, this happens to be exactly where I live/work.

I lived NW of Atlanta for a couple of years in the mid-90's (teacher and athletic trainer at a large high school) and had my carry license down there. I spoke with several LEO's over the years, who's kids were involved in athletics in the high school, and I began to ask each of them how their 'carry laws' worked and how they applied them! Each response was different...I probably has 7-8 different explanations and opinions on how they worked and none were exactly the same. A few understood the differences and were cool about it, and a few were like 'huh'? Kinda scary actually, one can be right one day...but wrong the next!

For some reason the backstrap of the 48 is just slightly different than most Glocks, and it fit me just right. It was even better with a Talon rubberized grip. With that said, I was so invested in the G19 platform with holsters/mags/etc that I picked up another G19 and let the 48 go. I question that decision often, but they are not hard to find and may end up with another someday.

I noticed the difference on the backstrap of the Glock 43X and 48 frame as well...and, while it's only a slight difference, it's enough to make Glock's single-stack framed pistol just that much more comfortable!

The G48 was my first ever new Glock. The grip fits me far better than the bulky grip of the G17. Although I did eventually buy a G34 MOS , bought the G34 with the hopes of having a good target 9mm with the addition of a red dot. Will probably have my G48 milled for a Holosun.

Good luck with that! I've yet to get bitten by the 'sight' bug....preferring to stick with traditional sights!
    I built a G-34 on a Gen 3 Glock frame with a stainless slide and a G17-L length 6" barrel...it's a real tack-driver!
I will need to do a grip reduction for it to better fit in my smaller-sized grip...but, wow is it ever fun to shoot!
